How My Teacher Unlocked the Writer in Me: Jaclyn Theo

My name is Jaclyn Theo Moses. I’m a young writer from Francistown, Botswana.

I started writing when I was 9. In Standard 4, I met a teacher—Mr. Katlego Molebatsi—who saw something in me. He’s also a writer, and when he noticed my potential, he encouraged me to write a book. He guided me through the whole process, and in time, I completed my final draft.

At just 10 years old, I published my first and only book, titled Divided Heart.

About Divided Heart

Divided Heart is a collection of 31 poems that reflect the emotions we face every day—sadness, joy, doubt, and hope. Even through the tough moments, I stay thankful to the Lord for His guidance and for the gift of life.

This book came straight from my heart as my pen bled on paper. I believe poetry can change the world. It can help children believe in themselves and carry the Word of God in a powerful way.
