What's the Authors Program about?

African Christian Authors Book Award program recognizes, celebrates and promotes quality in Christian authorship in Africa. Join over 700 authors from 13 countries in Africa in this movement to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

(i) An Annual Award Program (every last Saturday of November) 

(ii) Authors Training & Empowerment (ATE) – February to November each year

(iii) Authors Panels every month 

(iv) Recording Writing Journeys on video 

(v) Collaboration and Partnerships with authors of like mind. 

Program Questions

ACABA Award is presented annually to Christian authors, the Award program celebrates the "best of the year" in 10 categories. Finalists are chosen in each category and the winners are announced and awarded at African Christian Authors Gala held at CLC Kenya's Family Reading Picnic each year.

In addition, the following titles are chosen:

(i) African Christian Authors Content of the Year to represent the year's best book for its literary merit

(ii) African Christian Authors Book Cover of the Year to represent the year's best book cover for its design merit

(iii) African Christian Authors Book Program of the Year to represent the year’s best book for its extraordinary impact.

(iv) African Christian Publishers Pick.

Yes. It is powered By CLC Kenya.

Fo 80 years since 1941, CLC International in over 44 countries has been honouring God by "making Christian literature and resources available and accessible to all nations, to help people come to faith and maturity in the Lord Jesus Christ."

In Kenya, CLC started in 2007 and has been impacting lives through Christian literature and publishing in Africa.

CLC Kenya celebrates and seeks to promote great books that impact the world by encouraging Christian authorship in Africa. The African Christian Authors Book Award represents good reads and impact of Christian books in Africa each year.

Registration Fees Questions

Kes 2,500 submission fee is required. It caters for posters and social media publicity throughout the year of submission. 

Yes. To attend the Gala event:
Kes 2,500 (single ticket), Kes 3,000 (couple ticket) and Kes 500 (children ticket attending with a registered parent).

This will cater for venue costs, dining,  entertainment and one free book of choice. 

Authors are encouraged to invite family and friends.

Steps to join the Award Program:

Learn more about the submission categories here. Ensure you select the correct category to allow your book to display in the right category.

You will need an author account before submission. Register here – you will need your author name, WhatsApp number and a password.

Submit Your Book

After registration, please submit your book from the “submit a book” button at the bottom right. You will need (i) your book’s summary/blurb (ii) your author bio, and (iii) Coverspread of your book in PDF format.

Make Payment

Pay Kes 2,500 if submitting independently, and Kes 1,500 if submitting through a participating partner.

Send 2 copies

Send two copies of each submitted title to CLC Kenya’s Nairobi offices or send your files to the Award Program Secretary, Jackline Ingasian to Print-On-Demand for you at a cost. Phone/WhatsApp +254707463007 or on email programs@cblafrica.com.
