I am Koketso KM_ShePoet Jonas, a spoken word artist from South Africa, whose life is centered on our Lord Jesus Christ. I spread the gospel through poetry, giving, and serving wherever He leads me. I am a wife, a mother of three wonderful boys, and soon-to-be mother to a beautiful daughter.
I am also the founder of Anointed to Anoint, a ministry that disciples young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds and reaches out to the homeless. My heart is to reflect God’s love in both word and action.
Though I studied acting and have always seen myself as an artist, writing has always been part of me. Poems, quotes, scripts, and plays filled my notebooks. Yet, I never imagined I would one day publish a book.
My book, Love Is a Journey, is not my work—it is God’s work. From the title to the chapters, from the cover design to the publishing, it was all Him. By His grace and divine provision, I was able to self-publish. This book is a testimony of His love and faithfulness in my life, written to touch hearts, heal wounds, and draw people closer to Him.
My Writing Journey
In 2023, I was in one of the darkest seasons of my life. I was unemployed, drowning in debt, battling depression, and feeling the crushing weight of rejection. I isolated myself completely. Some days I couldn’t even get out of bed. Hearing my children ask for food—food I often did not have—broke me even more. In despair, I wrestled with suicidal thoughts and even wished for my life and my children’s lives to end.
But in that lowest moment, God spoke to me. He asked me to write a book. He gave me the title Love Is a Journey and the scripture John 3:16.
At first, I thought He wanted me to write a book about that verse, so I drafted chapters around it. But nothing flowed. Desperate, I went back to Him for clarity. Then He revealed the truth: He wanted me to write about my own life—my journey, my pain, and His redeeming love.
That’s how Love Is a Journey was born.
About the Book
Love Is a Journey is a testament of God’s unconditional, unshakable, and undeniable love. It reminds us that His love did not end at the cross—it rose with Jesus and continues to carry us through our battles and victories today.
The book explores the four kinds of love—Agape (God’s love), Storge (family love), Philia (friendship love), and Eros (romantic love)—through the lens of my own story. I open my heart to share my lived experiences:
Growing up in a home filled with abuse between my parents
Surviving molestation
Experimenting with drugs
Entering same-sex relationships
Being exposed to muti (witchcraft)
Through it all, God’s love never abandoned me. He healed, restored, and transformed my life.
This book is written for anyone who has faced pain, rejection, abuse, or brokenness. It is a story of hope—an invitation to relate, identify, heal, transform, and trust again. Because love is not a destination—it is a journey. Just as the cross was not the end, neither is your story.
