Transform Your Life by Judy Owiti

This is a 90-day adventure for teenagers, young adults and the young at heart!

Please introduce yourself?
My name is Judy Owiti, I am a mum of 3 and wife. Professionally I am a Youth empowerment Coach.
I help prepare high school graduates for transition to adulthood and independent living.
I love reading, watching investigative and court dramas, and experiencing nature.

Tell us how you came to the knowledge of Christ / Your Christian Faith?
I gave my life to Christ in my twenties. I was lost, broken and in need of a savior. And Jesus met me right there. Knowing Christ has been life-changing for me. I have purpose and a hope for the future.

What is the message in your book and who is the target reader?
My book is a 90-day devotional that offers inspiration and practical guidance to everyday living, drawing wisdom from God’s word. It includes overcoming personal struggles, managing life’s challenges, finding purpose and learning about the deception in our culture among others.
The target is young adults and teens, but anyone can read it because it touches on issues that are universal and affects all of us.

Why the title ‘Transform Your Life?’

I chose the title ‘Transform Your Life’ because it captures the transformative nature of the devotional. ‘Transform’ signifies a significant, positive change. When we follow God’s word and apply it to our everyday living, transformation becomes inevitable. The responsibility to seek and experience this transformation lies with the reader, taking an active role in shaping and improving their own lives. And the power to do so is found in God’s word. I hope that this book can empower you to embark on this transformative journey.

What inspired you to write the book?

I was inspired to write ‘Transform Your Life’ by a desire to provide practical guidance and support for my own children—two young adults and a teenager. As a parent, I found myself consistently searching bookstores for a devotional that not only addressed the spiritual aspects of their lives but also offered practical insights tailored to the unique challenges they were facing. After years of searching without finding that which I envisioned, it became clear to me that perhaps I was meant to write it.
The vision for this devotional was vivid in my mind, a blend of spiritual wisdom and practical advice specifically tailored for teens and young adults. I wanted a book that could speak to their daily struggles, aspirations, and growth in a tangible and applicable way. As a result, I embarked on the writing journey, believing that if you can’t find what you’re looking for, perhaps you’re meant to create it yourself.

So, ‘Transform Your Life’ was born out of a parental concern, a passion for guiding young individuals through their transformative years, and a vision of offering practical tools for navigating the complexities of life. I’m excited to share this with others who may be seeking a similar book for their own lives or the lives of their loved ones.”

Please share if there are any books in the pipeline?
At the moment, my primary focus is on the upcoming launch of ‘Transform Your Life,’ scheduled for December 7, 2023. I’m eagerly anticipating sharing this devotional with everyone who can benefit from its messages. Once the launch is done, I am excited about the possibility of working on more projects in the future. The goal is to continue creating content that resonates with and supports readers on their journey. Stay tuned for updates.

Any advice to the upcoming writers?
Don’t give up. Keep writing. The writing journey is not an easy one; it demands much from you. It requires focus, long nights, and long days, and there will be moments when you feel tempted to surrender. However, if God has placed an idea in your heart, be obedient and write the book. Lives on the other side are waiting for your obedience. Often, you are the only person who can perceive the idea in the unique way that you do. Don’t wait for approval from others before you begin, as they may not fully comprehend it. You are the one entrusted with the idea by God. My advice is to start writing and continue writing.

Any parting shot?
I am so grateful for the support I have received so far and I pray that this book will inspire you to live a life of obedience to God. I pray the devotional will point you to God who alone can satisfy your soul.
