She is a Pastor and Teacher of the Word of God who simplifies principles for ease of understanding of the Word of God. With the gift of insight she has been entrusted with, she loves to write and share wisdom that sets God’s people free. She is a travelling minister who regularly ministers in different set ups, churches and environments. Mrs Melody Banda is married to Pastor Rabson Banda with whom she has two teenage children. She is resident in Botswana.

Behind every action is a motive and behind every motive is inspiration, behind every inspiration is a spirit in operation, whether of God or His enemy, our enemy, the devil and what he seeks to do which is steal, kill and destroy. Through studying the life of Laban (a dishonest and oppressive person in the Bible), we learn the different ways with which the thieves of potential operate in an attempt to stifle others’ growth and well-being. We learn how to handle people of this kind and win against their hold over our lives.
I Ain’t Leah
In this book you will find the life of a misguided womab who then became a victim of her circumstances but moreso, bought into the system that worked against her and went along with it. A misguided woman can easily mishandle herself, be misused and abused. Such became the fate of the woman who has inspired this book. Before I mention her name, I want it known that she has replicated herself in many females who find themselves in the same environment as she grew up in, enduring the same misfortunes and heartbreaking happenings that then shaped the way they perceived life. With that belief system prevalent in their souls, they continue to make the same decisions that cause them to fight against the set favourable norms, leading many to drownings and near drownings. This book has come to rescue you.
I have endeavoured to practically share and expose Leah’s life in order to save many from going down her road, quite a dark road. I once shared with a good friend that, ‘choosing the path of all things working together for your good and neglecting to employ wisdom where you can is tantamount to foolishness.’ In this beautiful book is great wisdom and insights to inspire a new breed of special women who won’t allow themselves to defend dysfunction and perpetuate self-destructive behaviour, this exposing the next generation of women to the same pains.
Pastor Melody’s books are more than just words on a page—they are vessels of divine wisdom, undeniably guided by the Holy Spirit. Each chapter is infused with power and revelation that stirs the soul and transforms the mind. I read I Ain’t Leah and it had been a journey of self discovery and awareness. The book ushered me into a journey of embracing other Women with an understanding that there may be a backstory to their behavior and attitude towards life. The book helped me heal from my childhood traumas and forgive the past hurts and offenses.
It has helped me take a decision towards self development as I learnt and discovered that I am not a Victim but a Victor in Christ Jesus.
This book is also a great evangelical tool as it reveals the love of God in every chapter.
I can boldly recommend it for this generation
Well, talk about irony—my name is Liah, not Leah, so I guess I ain’t Leah either! And just like Melody Banda, I refuse for my story to echo hers. “I Ain’t Leah” is a powerful, unapologetic declaration of self-worth, resilience, and refusing to settle for less than what we deserve. Melody’s storytelling is raw yet uplifting, making this book a must-read for anyone tired of being placed in someone else’s shadow.
Thank you Pastor Mel for these inspirational and eye and mind opening books. I read both of them and I am still visiting them now and then. I say eye opening because after an encounter with these books now I read the Bible for answers and solutions not to seek an unknown God. Through these pieces I now know why I possess certain characters and how to deal with them. If I were to list how your books have changed my life it would not be a comment but a book itself. I recommend it for any woman that is lost like I was.
I’ve personally read “I ain’t Leah”. A beautiful book that gave the insight into the female mind and how. It is important to cherish and give the necessary assurance. As a man, there were some principles I could apply in my own life and after my life drastically changed for the better.
This is a book I would stronger encourage women (and men) to read.
“watch out for Laban” is a very insightful book on how our lives can be imprisoned by Laban. We have modern day Labans, and we must pray that God can deliver us from them.

I felt touched and motivated to read Melody Banda’s books after listening to her ‘I ain’t Leah’ interview on Facebook in 2024. She delivers a powerful message in a simplified and unique way. Even my 9 year old son did not struggle to read and understand. Personally, the books were liberating and eye opening. I highly recommend them for anyone in a personal development journey.

Great writing for one’s first two books. Evident that prayer and revelation went into the books exposing valuable principles needed for journeying as a believer. Watch out for Laban is a gem. Many a time when we read through texts, even Scripture, we miss the gravity of the message being relayed. For one, this book brings to light the damage made to Jacob’s relational life by the schemes of a man imposing loveless, lifeless daughter on him. When this book opens your eyes in such you are never the same in conduct if relations, teaching and guiding others in the same.

Read Watch out for Laban and was intrigued with how she uses scripture to expose everyday issues people meet in their homes, community and workplaces. An amazing work and a must read! I would recommend this book without hesitation
What an exceptional author…her books are so practical and relatable. My life has been transformed by them. Many of the wounds I carried were healed by interacting with her material…God inspired books and I would highly recommend anyone who hasn’t read any of the books to grab copies your life with never be the same afterwards
