Rayhab Macharia

My name is Rayhab Wangari Macharia. I am a wife to one man, a mother of three, a pastor, and a marriage and family therapist.
Writing was not always a passion of mine. In 2018, I began spending time with writers who made the journey look both meaningful and exciting. To help me start my own writing journey, I enrolled in a one-year leadership course in 2020, and one of the requirements was to write a book.
Prayer has always been at the center of my life. For me, any time is prayer time. What began as an idea for a general 21-day prayer and fasting devotional took a different direction when the Lord impressed upon my heart to spend 21 days intentionally praying for my one-year-old son while putting him to bed each night. Those precious moments of prayer and bonding inspired the devotional that became When Mama Prays.
My passion is to help families grow closer to God and to equip parents with practical tools for raising children through prayer.

When Mama Prays
What if praying for your child became one of the most powerful gifts you could give them?
When Mama Prays was born from a mother’s simple act of praying over her young son during bedtime. What started as 21 days of intentional prayer became a beautiful journey of faith, connection, and spiritual growth.
Many parents know they should pray for their children, but often wonder how to do it. This devotional provides a practical guide to help parents pray intentionally and consistently over their children’s lives, future, character, and relationship with God.
Filled with heartfelt prayers and biblical encouragement, When Mama Prays invites parents to partner with God in shaping the lives of the children He has entrusted to their care.
