“Impacting lives with Christian literature”
Free Bird Rising by Terry Wafula is a deeply personal and heartrending memoir, told with moving honesty and profound simplicity.
In this powerful story, Terry unveils the harsh realities of growing up in a dysfunctional, polygamous household scarred by abuse, neglect, betrayal, and dehumanizing poverty. Though Terry finds solace in her Christian faith and the support of a loving community, this foundation crumbles when she faces her worst nightmare at the tender age of 13. The devastating aftermath threatens to break her spirit, leaving her at a crossroads: to succumb to despair or fight to reclaim her life from the shadows.
Despite the darkness, Terry embarks on a journey of healing—opening her heart to the grace and resilience needed to restore her body, mind, soul, and spirit.
Free Bird Rising is a story of courage and hope, and transformation. Terry’s triumphant rise above a lifetime of tragedy will captivate and inspire anyone who has faced their own battles, reminding them that they too can overcome.
