I never set out to become an author.
For years, I found fulfillment teaching the Bible — on church platforms and in small groups. Writing a book, especially for men and husbands, was never part of the plan.
That changed when my first marriage collapsed.
We began full of hope. Dori (not her real name) and I had dreams, but life happened — financial strain, health issues, and emotional distance. Slowly, I withdrew, pouring more into ministry than my marriage. When leadership at home faltered, cracks widened.
Eventually, I lost my wife, my family, and my ministry positions.
Hitting Rock Bottom
The aftermath was devastating. I lost my home, my parenting role, a thriving 15-year ministry, and the dream of planting a church. Most painfully, I lost my partner and friend.
Grief, shame, and an identity crisis consumed me. I no longer fit anywhere — not in ministry, not in family, not even in my own skin. Yet in the silence, God met me.
I wrestled with truth. I prayed. I journaled. I mourned. Slowly, I began a deliberate journey of healing — not as a leader, but as a man facing his failures.
When God Rewrote My Script
One day, Psalm 51:13 pierced my heart:
“Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.”
I sensed God saying, “Your pain is not just about you. I want you to walk the path of biblical husbandhood and invite other men to join you.”
That was the birth of The Activated Husband — not from theory, but from brokenness and humility. A personal roadmap from dysfunction to activation.
From Pain to Purpose
Today, I write and speak to help men reclaim functional and thriving headship — and remind those who have fallen that they can rise again.
My message is simple: when a man is activated, everyone wins. Families thrive. Communities change. Nations heal.
The Activated Husband is not a perfect man’s manual. It’s a lifeline for men who still believe in transformation. I don’t speak from a mountaintop, but from a valley I’ve walked — and the grace I’ve found there.
My Writing and Publishing Journey
I often say The Activated Husband was written in the valley… but published on a battlefield.
My writing began with a longing to be honest with myself and God. My journal became my safe place — filled with raw prayers, Scripture wrestling, and God’s gentle corrections.
Months later, God impressed on my heart: “This isn’t just for you. Other men need to hear this.” My personal reflections turned into an assignment.
The Publishing Battlefield
Publishing was a spiritual and practical challenge. My editor quit three weeks before launch. My designer backed out days before the event. Finances dried up. Opposition came from every side.
By all logic, I should have quit — but I didn’t.
On launch day, the books arrived that very morning. The venue came together. Every detail aligned just in time. It was nothing short of God’s orchestration.
That day was more than a launch — it was a testimony of God’s faithfulness through obedience, brokenness, and courage.
Though self-published, I am trusting God for partnerships and collaborations to spread this message further.
