Colleen Mapatwana
Colleen Cornelia Mapatwana is a distinguished published author, publisher and a decorated award winner. Her literary journey is adorned with accolades, beginning with her triumph at the Eastern Cape Provincial Awards in 2016, where she secured the prize for best English Literature with her remarkable book, “A cry of a Black Woman”. The recognition continued to flow as she clinched two honours at the African Author Honoree Awards in 2021 for her novel “When I Said I Do” and her impactful novella, “Being a Woman in a Men’s World”.
In 2022, Colleen’s prowess shone once again, earning her award from CLC Kenya for her Christian non-fiction work, “Like A Soldier in the Army” in the African Christian Author Book Awards (ACABA) in Christian Living Category. Her literary repertoire spans diverse genres, encompassing poems, short stories in both Isisxhosa & English, novels, novellas and Non-fiction Christian Literature. As a versatile writer, she contributes her insightful column ‘A Phenomenal Woman’ in the online magazine, The African Bond. With a total of nine published books, some readily available on platforms like Amazon and Goodreads, Colleen’s impact on literature resonates far and wide.
In 2023 she was a penalist for the women in publishing during the Durban International Book-fair and in the young women writers’ symposium at Wushwini Art Center KZN.She has also facilitated writing workshops for the Eastern Cape Department OF Arts & Culture at Amathole District. Also in 2023 she was awarded an influencer of the year award by CLC Kenya. In March 2024 she won in a short story competition and got featured in an anthology titled ‘experiencing God’s presence” in Christian Writers for life.
Beyond her writing, Colleen is a guiding force as a Director of Daughters of Integrity Publishers and Distributors (PTY) LTD. This platform empowers aspiring authors in South Africa to share their narratives through self-publishing. She actively participates in the Ikamva Lababhali Writers Society in Butterworth and is a member of the esteemed National Writers Association of South Africa (NWASA).
Venturing beyond the realm of literature, Colleen stands as an Apostle and the visionary founder of the women’s movement “Daughters of Integrity Ministry”. This empowering initiative imparts Christian values to inspire and uplift women. A fervent advocate for women’s rights, Colleen seamlessly weaves her beliefs into her writings, championing empowerment.
Hailing from the picturesque village of Nyanisweni in Qumbu, Eastern Cape, South Africa, Apostle Colleen Mapatwana’s academic journey initially led her to study B.cur at Walter Sisulu University. However, her path ultimately steered her towards full-time ministry and creative writing. Her commitment to artistic growth is further evident through her participation in the Act (Arts & Culture Trust) Building Blocks program in 2021, funded by the National Arts Council and the Eastern Cape Provincial Arts & Culture Council; she has also graduated her creative writing course with CLC Kenya.

This book is for all Christian brothers and sisters especially those who engage in spiritual warfare that they may understand that there are gates to territories, destinies, finances and in the spirit world then if there are gates therefore there should be gatekeepers and watchmen.
God has His gatekeepers and watchmen for His kingdom and so does the devil. So this book teaches on how to access and gethold of those gates and how to gatekeep the gates and doors of the kingdom of God. It differentiates between gatekeepers and watchmen. It assists brethren to identify themselves and not to function where they are not called to because it puts their lives in danger.

Jesus said I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Spiritual gates are real and in “Gatekeepers and watchmen” Colleen reveals how we can possess the enemies gates while protecting our own gates. I highly recommend this valuable book to you. Prayer is the oxygen of a believer; therefore, every believer must be equipped in different types of prayers so as we can live a victorious life on earth as it is in Heaven. As a believer, intercessor, mother, sister, wife, I need to know how to contend for the destinies of those that the Lord Jesus Christ has entrusted me with.
