My name is Victor Ochieng, a born again Christian and serves as pastor in the Anglican Church of Kenya., i am also by the grace of God teacher and mentor of young people in leadership focus.
My writing journey is one that I would say is a testimony of the grace of God; After being born again and getting tips on how to study the bible from Lamp and Light courses ,I started writing and keeping notes from my meditation. This ignited my life to embark on topical study of the bible as well as getting interested in short books connected to Kenneth Haggin,TL Osborne and Myles Munroe.
I got so encouraged by the simple yet captivating English used to pass their messages. As I studied these books ,I wrote down and filed the thoughtful insights I received. I continued with the discipline of prayer, early morning bible study and making notes.
Over time, the written paper piled, although with jumbled up thoughts and from just a testimony I got encouraged that one day the thoughts will be amalgamated to a book; Concerning the timeframe of the book production, that i did not conceived. In one of the forums I met a former student of mine I had taught in high school and He shared with me a testimony of the number of short novels and short stories he had written when he was in university.
Interestingly in all these books he included my name in the acknowledgement section for having been of help to his writing journey. This testimony touched me to the extent that I just surrendered to God to use me more. Later, I even developed a deeper passion and started a project of purchasing impactful books per month ,reading and writing a summary of each book.
I embarked on Myles Munroe series, John Maxwell, EM bound, Morsy Madugba, John Kimani Williams and many more. Coupled with the devotional studying of the bible and prayers every morning, my spirit was loaded with a lot of power that I felt I needed to be released. I began during my experience at heaven’s gate prayer mountain to develop 10 manuscripts on different topics tethered around prayer and leadership.
That mountain experience got me peace and confidence and from there I got 60 Makarios book series by Dr. Dag Heward mills. I studied the writing pattern and asked God that I wouldn’t be a clone but emerge with a unique way to curve out my work. From the 10 manuscripts from 2022, four of them have reached publication and I am trusting God that through this platform, I will interact with like minded scribes and experts to shape my journey to the next trajectory.
