Edward Munene
Edward M. Munene is the Senior Pastor at International Christian Centre Mombasa, a church he planted several years ago and continues to lead. He is the author of the books under the Lifession Publishing fold. He is a Certified Professional Life Coach, and a certified Mental Health Coach. He loves to combine pastoring and coaching to equip, encourage and inspire people to live their lives fully for God and building them up to become world changers.
Edward is also a registered member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
He is currently a student at Fuller Theological Seminary where he is pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Theology and Ministry.

When the goal is to have adults out of the children God has given you, the conversations change, the focus changes, and how you utilize the time and opportunities you have with your children also changes as you seek to shape them for their God Given destiny as adults.

These books have grounded my walk as a Christian—for instance, Carte Blanche where the Author invites the reader to consider writing their own freedom story. The book invites every believer to audit their Christian journey and answer the question; are they free? Do they enjoy the freedom that Christ died for on their behalf?

I then studied intentional parenting. How to raise Godly children. I learnt how to discipline, train and be a good example to my children. We came up with family traditions to help us bond and serve God together. I got to understand my bibilical role as a parent and appreciate the gift of my children. They say that parenting does not come with a manual but I defer, this is the MANUAL!

I was in ANCHOR Sn4 2023 and WIFF Sn1 2024. What life changing experiences those were to me personally! For the last two months, I conveniently opted to ignore the principle of budgeting and expenditure tracking taught by Pastor Munene in both ANCHOR & WIFF.. Needless to say, that decision didn’t go too well. Am back on track now and things are going splendidly well, glory to God! No more impulse buying.

I’ve participated in the Anchor and Walking in Financial Freedom classes and read the accompanying books. Although I don’t attend ICC Mombasa in person, Pastor Edward has profoundly influenced me through these classes. His mentorship and coaching have inspired me to approach both my finances and my life with greater responsibility.
Pastor Edward has encouraged me to assess my life with honesty, recognize areas for improvement, and make necessary changes. I’m a beneficiary of 3 books and classes authored by Pastor Edward Munene.
I was doing so badly with my finances. In short i chose to go through his coaching classes .
1.
My first class book was going through Walking in Financial Freedom for 10 wks. This was a real eye opener to date. The practical lessons and saving techniques taught in that class have made me take a turn around and became more careful and accountable to my money plus im a person who saving 👏🏼
2.Carte Blache
This book and the class found me in a deep place in my life. During the class i learnt to be so vulnerable and acknowledge my weak self and work towards rebuilding my self esteem.
In short by 10 weeks i realized my smile was back( I rarely did this). I got out of my brokenness and became bold and intentional to living a happy life as God has ordained. Pastor Munene impacted me in many ways in the 10 weeks journey.

Intentional parenting.
Just finished this class today.(10 weeks).
This one was a real life lesson to me. My parenting skills were challenged and i learnt to be intentional in parenting my kids as gifts from God and be a steward during this journey.

Your books are from a Godly perspective and follow biblical principles with relevant bible verses and stories through and through. Your personal experiences together with the examples shared in the books are real stories relatable to anyone that reads the material. I have personally read 3 books. Intentional parenting is the recent one, being a parent to 3 amazing children I have learned always to affirm my children, discipline them using the sandwich method, not to grow weary of always teaching them, and to keep on reminding them whenever they forget and always to be patient with them. I intentionally love my children and teach them about God. We celebrate even the little milestones. I have learned how to win on my parenting journey and the ultimate goal is to raise my children to grow up knowing and loving God. Walking in Financial Freedom is a book everyone needs to read, when I joined this class I did not know how to be a good steward of the finances that God gave me. I learned how to manage my finances, steps to take to get out of debt, steps to take to invest, money market funds, to create a margin in my life by living below my means, and many other lessons. Anchor gives a holistic approach on how to live a balanced life (Spiritually, financially, career wise, in my relationships, my passion, personal development, and in my health). It was through this class that I evaluated the wheel of my life and it was very crooked and unbalanced. I learned how to put God at the center of everything, evaluate the life goals I have set for myself, and revisit the steps I have taken to achieve those goals. I have learned, unlearned, relearned, and gone through all the emotions you can imagine. I am not the person I was before and for this I am grateful to God everyday for using pastor Edward in this way. Anchor is for everybody and once they go through it and take the necessary actions their lives will change for good. Finally, these books are not just books that you read one off and forget or keep aside, they are daily manuals with very useful prompts, bible verses, and activities that continue to be relevant in our daily lives and one can keep on referring to the books over and over. I definitely recommend the books to everybody who has not read them yet. Anchor was my first class to undertake under Edward Munene’s many books. The 10 weeks program in the book was wholistic to my life and enabled me see each aspect of my life and where i was at the time i did the class. This enabled me know where to put my focus on. As an employee, i was able to learn how to balance my life and work life as well. Matters finances, i was able to see how to manage my money. On relationships, i was able to gauge my relationships. Anchor also enabled me to know my gifts.
As a manager in my workplace,i have used the lessons i have learnt from anchor to teach my employees as well as utilise my gifts that i realised i had after taking the test in anchor. Now i use the skills to my full potential.

Intentional parenting helped me become a better parent to my girls by applying the lessons learnt. It opened my eyes to things i had not realised were a stumbling block in my parenting journey.
This is one book i highly recommend to all parents and would be parents. Children are indeed gifts from God and as parents we have the mandate to raise them as adults in a Godly way.
Intentional parenting book gives you practical ways to raise your children, lessons from the bible to guide you along the way, exercises to do as a parent and questions to ask yourself as a parent- at the end of it all- you become intentional in your parenting.

One of the books that have helped shaped my life better is Anchor. This is one book I highly recommend that everyone should do it whether you are a believer or not. Anchor will change your life for the better. Your relationship with God and people will help you know your God given purpose.
Where do I begin?
I have been a beneficiary of all the books Pastor Edward has written.
I was a wreck, no life direction, no purpose, living by the wind. I was introduced to Anchor, An adventure of faith and that’s exactly what it has been. My life drastically changed, I like saying Anchor transformed me from a Party girl to a Pastor. Yes, Anchor helped me clean up, find God, find my purpose and live it out for the glory of God!

I have learned how to anchor my faith in God despite every storm that comes my way.I have learned that God has always been with me and He wouldn’t let anything harm me.

I am grateful to be under your leadership. I am also privileged to go through the classes. Going through anchor, l learnt the importance of staying healthy and regular exercise. It has helped me keep fit and stay healthy, also wanting to grow my relationship with God. This has made me stay focused on persuing my relationship with God. Financial freedom, well it’s as the name states. I have learnt to live within my means and track my expenses. I have been learnt to be content with what l have in the different seasons of my life and also save no matter the amount, consistency is key. I am debt free because l have learnt to save for the big purchases. When l am not sure about a purchase, l learnt to give myself time to think about it and make a decision later on.
