Feature: Building Foundations for Generations – Rev. Josephine Nguuh

Some people walk into a room quietly—but leave a legacy loudly. That is the kind of presence Rev. Josephine Nguuh carries. With grace, wisdom, and purpose, she embodies Isaiah 58:12(b): “You shall raise up the foundations of many generations.” And for years, she has done exactly that—steadily laying bricks of influence across the spheres of ministry, family, leadership, and now, literature.
An ordained minister with Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM), CITAM Parklands Rev. Josephine is not only a preacher of the Word but a living testimony of it. She is a wife and mother to three young adults, and doting grandmother to one grandchild—a multigenerational life she lives out with intentionality and love.
But beyond the pulpit and her warm family embrace, Rev. Josephine is a woman deeply passionate about building a reading culture in Africa. She believes that reading is not just an intellectual activity but a holistic discipline—one that nurtures emotional depth, cultural awareness, spiritual formation, and physical consistency. To her, the pages of a book are not just words—they are tools for shaping character, cultivating vision, and transforming societies.
When Rev. Josephine joined ACABA, it was in our early, formative days—where meetings came thick and fast as we laid the groundwork for something we had never done been before. Even then, when we met frequently, she showed up to almost every session, eager, attentive, and full of encouragement. Her dedication and deep understanding of the mandate strengthened not only the vision but also lifted the spirits of the entire CLC Kenya/ACABA team. She didn’t just join a judging panel; she joined hands with a Kingdom movement.
In her downtime, you’ll find her cooking, walking, reading biographies, or worshipping to Gospel music—a beautiful blend of nurturing, movement, reflection, and praise. Her favourite African author is Chinua Achebe, and Things Fall Apart remains her most treasured read. For her, the story masterfully captures the inevitability of change—and how it shapes culture, religion, parenting, and leadership in the building of a stable community.
True to form, she is currently reading The Bigger Deal by Sunny Bindra—still growing, still learning, still building foundations that outlive her.
Rev. Josephine, thank you. Thank you for your heart, your time, and your unshakable belief in the power of Christian literature to shape generations. You are not only a judge in ACABA—you are a pillar.
Africa honours you. Heaven records your labour. And we at Christian Literature Communications – CLC Kenya and African Christian Authors Book Award – ACABA stand grateful.
