“Caregivers: The Silent Partners in Cancer Care” is a powerful and deeply evocative title. It shines a much-needed light on the often-overlooked individuals who provide unwavering emotional, physical, and logistical support to cancer patients. Referring to caregivers as “silent partners” acknowledges both their crucial role in the healing journey and the quiet strength with which they serve—frequently without recognition or respite. This title honors their dedication and sacrifices, and it sets the tone for a compassionate and insightful exploration of a topic that deserves far greater awareness and appreciation.

As both a cancer patient and the daughter of one, Caregivers: The Silent Partners in Cancer Care spoke to parts of me I didn’t even know needed words. Through her writing, Mary Gachau gives voice to the often forgotten heroes in the cancer journey, the caregivers.
Her work captures, with grace and honesty, the quiet strength, love, and exhaustion that define caregiving. It’s more than a book, it’s a mirror, a comfort, and a tribute to everyone who has ever walked beside someone in pain.
Mary doesn’t just tell stories, she creates understanding, empathy, and healing. For this reason, I truly believe she deserves recognition. Her words don’t just raise awareness, they restore dignity to caregivers and offer solace to those of us who’ve lived this journey firsthand.
Mary Gachau’s work is a gift ,one that should be celebrated, shared, and honored.

Mary has an incredible heart, mind filled with wisdom and much depth of God’s love to him and his people.her books exemplify such weight, insight, wealth and more so turns to paths not treaded by many especially in care giving.she comes down to delve in pains of humanity and hurting hearts in care giving and becoming a voice of such voiceless, yet still looks up to a balanced life which any person can live a fulfilled life and evidence that grace can carry one through.. Mary Gachau indeed is very insightful.

I happened
to find her book on caregiving a time that I was going through a long Sickness that had altered my sanity and that of my folks who were taking the caregiving role for 3 years to be precise.

The very first thing I learned is that self care for the caregiver is not selfish. It actually the only way to remain strong and effective both for himself and the recipient

The Second thing that I learned is that a caregiver also needs to be cared for by others the same way they care for the patient for them to more effective.

This helped open my eyes to see things I had overlooked so much when my husband was taking care of me as my primary caregiver. For example I wanted him to stay by my side all the time. I didn’t realize how he needed even a walk for just some fresh air being the primary caregiver, financia and all

I since then I began encouraging him to take breaks so he could rejuvenate.

Mary indeed deserves this award
