Mind Fall Apart

Mind Fall Apart is based on the true story of my son‘s struggles with schizoaffective mental condition and the impact it has on the rest of the family. The main purpose of this book is to create awareness of how mental illnesses manifest in different ways at any stage in life. I also wish to caution parents to be aware on the well-being of our children while in school environment, with peers, siblings or in the hands of caregivers. It is key to reducing the number of triggers of mental conditions in children. Parents also need to learn the best parenting styles to bring up mentally fit children. Mental illnesses may have symptoms that can make us unknowingly label our children as lazy, difficult, selfish, rude, foolish, or even bewitched!

“Trevor started laughing, giggling, crying, and being sad. There was no specific emotion. It made him so exhausted that by the following day, his energy levels were marginal. He lost his appetite and could just stare at the food. Furthermore, he was lost in thoughts and would try to serve tea with a cup upside down. Trevor would empty leftovers from the plate until you tell him to stop. If you asked him to get an item, he would forget and bring something completely different. If you called him, he would answer after several minutes. He was losing his memory. He started walking with his back half bent. Indeed, so much changed so fast”
