A child confined in prison is not only physically separated from greater society, but their hopes and dreams follow suit and suffer a slow and silent death. The Remand home was such a place until the Upendo Family reached out to it.
They showed the imprisoned children the meaning of love despite a past filled with crime. Love spread like an ever-expanding ripple in the lives of the children and members of the Upendo family.
The Treasure in an Oyster is a testimony, a book of Hope and the joy of obedience to God.
Joanna Kasemire Kiddu availed her being to God and a journey began. A family grew around her to restore hope in the lives of imprisoned children. With God at the helm, the young men and women Of Upendo have only just began to change the narrative for the next generation.
