Rev. Prof. Peter N. Kariuki went to Makerere University for his Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated in 1975. He was employed by the Teachers Service Commission(TSC) and studied for a Post Graduate Diploma in Education at the University of Nairobi to qualify as a teacher.
He has taught in different schools and colleges and headed some secondary schools. He has been a Dean of Students, a college and School Chaplain. In 1994, he took an early retirement to go through Ministry training. He studied MA in Pastoral Theology and a Doctor of Ministry degree.
Rev. Prof. Peter serves as a pastor in PCEA church while still teaching Theology at the Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA) and ILU.
He is married to Leah, with whom they have three children (one girl and two boys) and three grandchildren.
