I’m an undergrad and post grad law lecturer. I also minister in different churches/platforms.
CLC has created a platform for me to be seen and known as a credible christian author. You see, in Africa, we just write books. And hope that some day someone somewhere will point it out as a good book. But we didn’t have that someone somewhere until CLC/ACABA. Authors in other parts of the world have many forums on which they can be recognized, encouraged and amplified. Africa doesn’t. So CLC and ACABA have been a divine send in not only encouraging us to keep writing, but also to be seen and heard as African christian authors.
As an author of Memoirs of a Working Mother, I joined ACABA and CLC and participated in the nominees activities. This was last year. First of all, I was excited that I had become an author and had “arrived”. Until I started reading the writing journeys of the ACABA authors on a Nominees forum like this one. People talked of being on their 4th, 7th and even 10th book! Wow… I was challenged!
I had been keen on writing a book on marriage, but felt I was not competent enough to do so, being only married for 17 years. In one of the Monday devotions by CLC Kenya on the Nominees forum, this was posted…
That gave me courage to write my second book, for which I have been nominated this year. I wrote about this experience in my second book on marriage.
Esther, your journey as a Christian author is truly inspiring! CLC and ACABA have provided a platform for African authors to shine. Your dedication is admirable and your story is empowering. Keep writing and sharing your valuable insights with the world!
