My name is Teteyian Nangurai. I am an author, advocate, and mentor whose leadership is rooted in service, empathy, and purpose. My work includes customer relationship management, where I focus on building trust, meaningful engagement, and long-term relationships. Beyond this, I lead through advocacy for widows’ rights and by supporting individuals navigating life after loss. I am also involved in mentorship initiatives for less privileged communities, including efforts aimed at education access and empowerment. Through advocacy, mentorship, and storytelling, I seek to encourage resilience, promote financial independence for women after spousal loss, and demonstrate that our stories and lived experiences can be used to uplift others. My leadership is guided by the belief that even in difficult circumstances, hope, dignity, and joy are still possible.
I lead with my book by using it as a leadership and reflection tool that supports purposeful decision-making and personal growth. Unbroken – Smiling Beyond Pain is applied in conversations and forums to encourage resilience, accountability, and forward-focused thinking. The book enables me to influence how individuals and leaders reframe challenges, draw lessons from experience, and translate adversity into clarity, impact, and constructive action.
I was deeply humbled and moved. Receiving the award in November 2025 held special meaning, as January 2026 marks ten years since my loss. Experiencing this recognition around that season became a powerful reminder of how far I have come, despite the challenges and rebuilding along the way. It stirred a deep sense of gratitude for growth, resilience, and the strength to keep moving forward. I am especially grounded by the words of Psalm 91:4: “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” These words reflect the covering, strength, and faithfulness that have sustained me throughout the journey.
Crossing paths with ACABA felt timely and purposeful. At a stage when I knew I was called to share my story but was uncertain about where to begin, ACABA provided structure, encouragement, and belief in the message behind the book. Through guidance, affirmation, and continued support, ACABA helped strengthen my confidence as a leader using authorship as a platform. Even in moments of doubt and practical challenges, including financial limitations, the consistent encouragement to focus on the message of hope and its wider reach reinforced my commitment to the journey. ACABA has contributed to my leadership by helping position the book beyond a personal milestone, enabling it to serve as a tool for influence, purpose, and impact across different spaces and communities.
