I am empowered to lead. Here’s my Journey of faith and purpose in authorship – Sipokazi Somzana

I am a child protection social worker, a healthcare specialist in social work, a mentor, a coach, and an award-winning author. I am the founder of Asta Social Work Services, a private practice built on a foundation of philanthropy, and the face behind Sipokazi Writes, an online platform dedicated to empowering and transforming lives through the written and spoken word. My life’s work revolves around ensuring that Christ is revealed to individuals and nations, all to bring glory to Him.

How I am leading through my book: In all things, I strive to make sure my work is never about me but always about the most important and greatest being: my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. My book is a divine tool, crafted by God to edify His church—the body of Christ—and to spread His gospel across nations, allowing people to encounter His unfailing love. It is a privilege to steward this message, always redirecting all glory back to God.

When I first learned my book had won an award, I was both shocked and deeply humbled. Competing alongside some of the finest authors across Africa as a debut author, I hadn’t expected such an honour. But in that moment, God confirmed to me that this journey has never been about me alone; this book is His tool, and I am blessed to be a participant in His greater agenda. I realized with a new clarity that God has a profound purpose for my life, and this recognition is just the beginning of what He intends to accomplish through me and through the books He will inspire me to write. I am incredibly honoured by this recognition, and I do not take it lightly.

ACABA has shaped my leadership in Africa: ACABA is steadfast in advancing God’s agenda, highlighting Kingdom-focused literature and ministry with the utmost excellence to make our Father, Abba, proud. Being part of ACABA has inspired me to build my credibility and expertise, not only as an author but in every area of my calling.

They emphasize that publishing a book is just the beginning, urging us to pursue excellence and shine in our fields. Through ACABA, I have gained invaluable insights into planning and refining my marketing strategy for my book, business, and personal brand—an essential skill for any leader.

I have also learned that having a book isn’t merely about holding a title but about cultivating an audience that recognizes you as a knowledgeable, credible voice. ACABA’s mentorship has encouraged me to continue honing my expertise and to consistently grow in the subjects I’m passionate about.
