Writing to Leave a Legacy of Truth: Ernest Wamboye

MY WRITING JOURNEY

Hello everyone, my name is Ernest Wamboye. I am a follower of Christ, a husband, a father, and a minister of the Gospel. I started writing in high school. I was an avid reader of books, especially novels. I wrote my first novel when I was 16. It was on a thick exercise book of about 200 pages. My friends would read my work and give me stellar reviews. This made me pursue the passion. Unfortunately, a friend lost that novel 😩. I lost momentum, but picked it up again in university.

In my final year at university, I wrote my first published novel, The Human Temple. After I graduated, I worked at a publishing house (Publishing Institute of Africa Ltd) for more than two years, and this fueled my writing passion even more. I started a blog (www.penstrokes.co.ke), and it won three national awards in 2016, 2017, and 2019 courtesy of the Bloggers Association of Kenya 🇰🇪.

I had the pleasure of meeting Christian authors through an international platform called Littworld, by Media Associates International. This exposure made me realize that writing could be a fantastic way to minister to people and leave my message on this earth for posterity. God had delivered me from an addiction to pornography, and I wanted to communicate the power of freedom from these shackles—writing was the way to do it.

The result of all this was five more books:

  • Lust and the City: A guide on sexual purity

  • Holy Joe: A pocket handbook on sexual purity

  • Baesics: A guide on marrying well

  • Unmasking LGBTQ: Lies, Gambles, Biases, Truth, Questions

  • The Passionate Pursuit of Purity
