A Message from Incoming 2022 ACABA Digital Team Leader, Abiah Adnah McKenna (To the next level)

My name is Abiah Adnah Mckenna, the Author of Conceive Achieve for Teens. I am also the Lead Mentor at The Purposeful Teens Program – a program that is dedicated to helping teens discover and live out their God given calling.

During the 2021 round of ACABA, I was privileged to serve in the Digital Team under Pastor Samuel Mwinamo. Many words come to mind when I think of my experience, but if I could prioritise just one, that word would be community. Contrary to the uptight and rigid feel of most modern workplaces today, our merry little band felt somewhat like family, a place where conversations flowed, Ideas were fostered and laughter flourished. As a team, we had many victories as well as challenges, which we take as lessons learned that will be applied in this new round of ACABA 2022.

Building on this foundation, coupled with my passion for digital storytelling, I hope to accomplish the ACABA vision, “to recognize, celebrate and promote quality in Christian authorship in Africa” through Social Media, Animation, Videography and Voice Overs.

My focus this year is to elevate and amplify stories, to meet the faces behind the books and see the journeys our African Christian authors took to get to where they are today. I also hopefully desire to show you a glimpse of people who are inspired by God, passionate about their craft, and committed to the calling they have received to write. I want to highlight the joys and struggles that come with being an African Christian author in our day and age.

By God’s grace, I hope to inspire and encourage Africans that we can write, and that our books are worth reading!

Stay tuned…
