Dancing with Purpose: My Journey of Faith, Finance, and Writing

Family and Ministry

My name is George Oyuga.

I am married to one wife (a woman), and God has blessed us with a beautiful 14-year-old daughter and a handsome 12-year-old son.

I currently serve the Lord as an Elder in the Advisory Committee at CITAM Thika Road.

This role is a great privilege that reflects my journey of faith—one in which God has consistently held my hand with grace and mercy since my university days back in 1998.

My Writing Journey

I am an upcoming Financial Therapist, still in the process of discovering my niche—a blend of my financial background and a newly found passion for counselling psychology. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at PAC University.

Being part of this writing forum has awakened a deep sense of self-awareness. What I once considered minor writing opportunities have revealed themselves as foundational blocks in the discovery of my passion for writing.

I’ve been featured multiple times in the Business Daily, writing articles on topical issues in the retirement sector, as well as on financial management and literacy. My media appearances also include NTV, KTN, TV47, Hope FM, Hope TV, and Family TV.

But writing a book? That was never on my radar—until I met my publisher from The House of Wealth Publishers at a business forum organized by CITAM last year.

He became the “destiny mirror” I needed to unlock this hidden passion. After reading many of my newspaper articles, he told me that in me, he saw an author—and he offered to walk with me on a journey to realize that dream. That’s how my first book, Dance With My Money, was born.

About the Book

Dance With My Money reads like a personal therapy manual. It recognizes that we are all shaped by the sum of our financial decisions.

In our pursuit of growth, we sometimes misdiagnose our real-life challenges, ending up chasing “flossets” instead of true assets. In the process, we accumulate money wounds—injuries that can begin to shape our personalities, affect our life goals, and even harm our relationships.

Are you a financially wounded parent and you don’t even know it? I invite you to find out.

The book is anchored on the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), and it aims to open your eyes to the five key money dance arenas: Wealth, Investments, Savings, Earnings, and Revenue Relationships—summarized in the WISE(R) concept.

Milestones So Far

This nomination couldn’t have come at a better time. We are currently finalizing the audiobook version of Dance With My Money, which will be hosted on my new website:

I would be honored to have you visit the site and share your feedback—as fellow authors.

Physical copies of Dance With My Money are available at Nuria Bookstores, Bazaar Building, Moi Avenue, Nairobi.

I’m also in the CLC writing class, working on my second book:
Dance With My Pension, which encourages people to start saving early and approach retirement planning differently.

Success is not about how much you earn, but how you manage what you receive. That is true stewardship.
