About Me
Greetings! I’m Munashe Sibanda from Gweru, Zimbabwe. I wasn’t born a writer—compositions were never my strength in school—but I found my voice writing articles to solve community problems. I may not have perfect grammar, but I tell stories that engage and inspire.
A Turning Point
In 2022, after a devastating heartbreak and feeling abandoned by friends, I turned to the Lord for comfort. He nudged me toward His kingdom, calling me unexpectedly to preach—even though I was young, funky, and certain that standing behind a pulpit wasn’t for me. I protested, but His command was clear.
First Story: The Maker and His Ointments
Inspired by the Levite’s tale in Judges, I crafted my first short story, “The Maker and His Ointments.” It follows a humble ointment maker whose red, blue, and pink creations bless his town—until jealousy, greed, and sabotage threaten to destroy everything. In the end, generosity and perseverance win, as the Maker restores hope and fragrance to his city.
Discovering Poetry
As I wrote, I felt called to give voice to the oppressed—especially women. What began as lines of praise evolved into my first coherent poem, “The Greatness of Women,” celebrating their strength, dignity, and power in vivid, riddle-like verses.
Writing Journey & Book
After penning over 70 short stories and poems, I paused for inspiration. God led me to compile my work into a single volume—and the book The Devouring Fire was born. Despite two years of publishing setbacks, it finally released. Soon after, a national TV host gave it glowing praise, confirming that God had indeed done something remarkable through my words.
