My name is Abiah Adnah Mckenna. I am a published Author who is blessed to minister to teens through my books, ‘Conceive Achieve for Teens’, ‘Accountability for Teens’ and ‘It’s About Time for Teens’. The books are meant for Teens and provide a roadmap to help young people achieve their purpose.
In addition to my books, I am a passionate mentor who works with teenagers through the Purposeful Teenager Mentorship Program tackling purpose, time management and accountability as structures for success. I believe that young people have the power to change the world. The program creates a safe and supportive environment where young people can fully express themselves and discover their purpose early in life. With God’s help, they can emerge as confident and purpose-driven leaders in their communities and beyond.
I am a Josiah Kids, School of Young Leaders (USA) awardee in the Youth Leadership Award category for the mentorship program. My book was also awarded Gold Medal by African Christian Authors Book Award for translation and consumption by teenagers in France. I am gifted in using media and I serve in CLC Kenya, empowering African Christian authors with the digital tools and assets they need to develop their book ministries through videography, voice overs, animations etc.
I am a lover of Jesus and I spend my free time reading, writing, and finding new art mediums to explore with my siblings Ella and Ethan. Writing is basically how I think, process and understand the world. I discovered the small flame of writing when I was 10, and slowly but consistently, kindled that fire by writing anything and everything that came to mind, which at the time was mostly poetry, but I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame, and I kept at it and the flame grew.
When I was 10, my mom, Muthoni Omukhango got me a chance to write for the Tune Magazine. I wrote poems but my writing was also evolving and I wrote several articles too. When I was 14, my writing went to the next level when I met Julius Mwebia Mugambi – the Author of Conceive Achieve. I read his work and It was (and still is) a powerful and effective tool, that if read, can enlighten and if applied, can cause total transformation. But powerful as it was, not many, if at all any teens my age at that time would comprehend the beautiful treasure that was his book. So we teamed up and wrote Conceive Achieve For Teens, a book crafted specifically for that age. Nothing of the original work was excluded, wasted or thrown away. It was the same powerful concepts just told through the eyes of a teenager, for a fellow teenager. My book and journal are available on this link

With the help and encouragement of my parents, Patrick and Muthoni Omukhango, the flame is now a furnace, the book has evolved into a ministry and God is continuing to use it to transform lives for his glory and his honour. With the Purpose-full Teenager Program that I launched in 2020, young people are discovering their purpose at an early age, learning to manage time and use accountability towards becoming all God created them to be. I am extremely thankful to have been a part of what God is doing on the earth today! I graduated the pilot class in July of 2021 after 8 months of mentorship. We are now planning to get into schools to impact even more teenagers. https://abiahexpressions.org/
In 2020, I was a finalist in the Youth Leadership Award by Buford Harvest in the USA for my work with children and teens and in 2021, I was named an Ambassador in Africa.
I am encouraging young people between 7-17 years to register. It’s an amazing platform to encourage your children and children in your community to get recognized for their hard work and efforts. I have been able to make an impact because of the mentors I have had through out the different seasons of my life, they are the ones who encouraged me and given me many opportunities to grow.
From my book and program, I have had the privilege to be a speaker in several youth events in Mombasa, Nairobi, and Chuka University, with over a thousand young people combined. This gives me the opportunity to impact and motivate more youths to walk in purpose, manage time well and be accountable to achieve their dreams.
I’m grateful to my dad Patrick Omukhango for teaching me the Word of God from an early age and to my mom Muthoni Omukhango for always supporting and encouraging me to keep pushing even when I falter, fail and want to give up. And to all my other mentors who gave me an opportunity. And finally to Jesus for been there for me, always.
Because of my mentors guiding me through the steps of my life, I have achieved so much in the last 10 years. And that’s why I am passionate for teenagers to discover their talents early in life. It will buy them extra time. I summed up everything here. https://fb.watch/5BAls7Ka6T/
I recently got an opportunity to do an interview with my mom at Family TV for a segment called – In My Mother’s Footsteps as regards to publishing. While I may not end up being a publisher like my parents, the books and publishing industry is all I have known since I was a young child. It has great impact on who I am and has helped me become an avid reader and author of many books. I have discovered gifts I have to serve other authors. I know as I venture into Architecture, there will be always something I am doing with books. You can listen to the interview here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTs-_jaltNI
Watch out for our YouTube Channel as siblings. “We will all be doing what we are good at…” That’s all that matters. Everyone doing what they have been gifted by God to do. Then we can all serve one another.
Our upcoming channel is called – Our Little Corner of the World. And our upcoming family website will be www.omukhangos.space, though my mom already has Reflections by Muthoni Omukhango both as a website and YouTube channel. We are all happy to have something to do together as a family.
