My name is Tafadzwa Chihwayi Rwizi. I am a personal and community development practioner. I am the senior Pastor of House of Redemption Ministries, based in Harare, Zimbabwe. I am also a Certified Life Coach and Corporate Trainer.
Besides writing books, I am the Chief Editor of the International Coaching and Mentoring Magazine and the Career Masters Magazine, by the International Coaching and Mentoring Foundation where I serve as Board Chairman. I also love farming, mainly but not limited to Horticulture.
I have been privileged by Grace to present on almost all of the leading radio and TV stations in Zimbabwe, and to run weekly programs that have been a blessing to many.
My writing journey began when I was in secondary school. I used to get the highest marks for my compositions and essays, but I had never connected that ability to the writing of books. What sparked the idea was the need to minister to people who were not with me physically.
I got saved at a mission school while I was doing my Ordinary Levels. I immediately began to preach to my fellow school mates and within a few weeks, had managed to launch a daily prayer meeting at the boarding school.
During school holidays when I couldn’t see my fellow students physically, I would write to them to encourage their faith. This continued with my then former students and everyone I would minister to, would go on my newsletter list (though at the time I had not heard about the concept of newsletters).
I would write 20 to 30 letters manually and send them to the different parts of the country where my newsletter list demanded. It wasn’t until my sister got a job that I changed my methods of reaching out. My sister started typing my letters, then we would send them out by post to numerous recipients across the country. Many of the people who got onto my newsletter list, I have never met.
In my late teens to early 20s I began writing “daily bullets”, which were short inspirations written by pen in a big diary with a view to publish them one day. One day I met a man of God who encouraged me to self-publish my writings. He showed me the way and the result was my first ever published book. It was of poor quality through and through, but it made me realise that all things are possible. The title of my first published book was “Healing from Grief”. I kept only one copy for posterity sake otherwise, at some point it was a work I was ashamed of. However, today I derive much inspiration from that book.
My next book was entitled ‘Knowing the Peace of God.’ This became a 4 part series. The series was birthed out of an encounter I had with God that brought immeasurable peace to my heart in my most trying time. It is an experience that would shape my personal paradigm on life, on challenges and of the mighty God we serve.
By the Grace of God, I have since written 24 books and published 13 to date.
One of the key aspects of my ministry has been to train and encourage pastors to write books. I have done an average of 4 free seminars annually across the country with pastors, to show them how they can write and convert their sermons into books.
This year, 2 of the books I published in 2024 have been nominated for ACABA. For that I am very grateful. These are Managing Stress: Power over overwhelming thoughts and feelings;
and Premarital Wisdom: What you need to Know before you say I do.
