When Marriage Vows Are Tested: Navigating the Trials of Marriage Vows

I am Ruth Mueni, an award-winning author (2023) recognized for my first book, “From a Tea Girl to a Banker: An Inspirational Journey of Faith and Hope.” Writing this book has been an exciting journey, one that has led to the birth of my second book, which I am glad to introduce to you now.

My Writing Journey:

“When Marriage Vows Are Tested”

Whether married or aspiring to settle in marriage, many times, the marriage vows are not taken seriously. Marriage is a unique commitment, one where certification is given before the class begins, and there is a lot of work to do. In reality, “for better” seems to be the loudest vow, while “for worse” is often given in a low tone, with the hope or assumption that it will never happen.

In my first book, “From a Tea Girl to a Banker: An Inspirational Journey of Faith and Hope,” I shared my journey of career and marriage as a young teenager, unprepared for the challenges I would face. I learned that love is blind, but marriage is an eye-opener, especially when the vows are tested.

It’s not about if the vows are tested, but when they are tested, what then? Which areas are tested also matters greatly.

My experiences in marriage, both in my journey and through interactions with other couples, compelled me to document my learnings. This is for those in marriage and those aspiring to be, to create awareness about what to expect when vows are tested and the different areas where these challenges may arise.

We can make marriage work by realizing it is indeed work that works, being God’s idea. When Marriage Vows Are Tested is the tool I was inspired to share with the world. The need to seek mentors who have successfully navigated relationships is crucial in guiding us through this amazing journey. Additionally, I provide tips to help keep marriage vibrant and healthy, fanning the flames of love and commitment.
