My name is David Noti Kombe, a born-again Christian holding a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Liverpool, UK. Currently, I am in the final stage of an MBA degree in Corporate Management at KCA University, Nairobi, Kenya. Over the years, I have worked in both the public and private sectors, including a tenure as a Member of Parliament in the Kenya National Assembly. Presently, I am involved in private business and serve as a director in several companies. I am married to Patricia and blessed with three children.
I have been actively engaged in church activities for many years, particularly in marital counseling alongside my wife. For a decade, we have dedicated ourselves to serving at CITAM Buruburu, Nairobi, Kenya, initially as pre-marital counselors in the Marriage Enrichment Ministry, which later evolved into the Family Care and Enrichment (FaCE) ministry.
My Writing Journey
Writing has always provided me with an outlet for expressing my thoughts and convictions. It serves as my voice to be heard, although maintaining focus while writing demands considerable effort. Writing has been a continuous learning process for me, starting from my school days and continuing to this day.
My writing journey began over thirty years ago, prompted by a profound experience when God miraculously healed my wife, who was in a coma and given only hours to live by doctors. At the time, our unborn child, seven months in the womb, was also declared still. Through divine intervention, both my wife and child were discharged from the hospital alive, serving as living testimonies of God’s grace. I have authored a book titled “Through God’s Refinery,” which delves into the afflictions and suffering experienced by Christians in their lives. I am currently adding additional chapters to this work.
In 2020, my second book titled “A Time Pregnant with Danger” was published. It addresses the prevailing moral decay despite the widespread presence of Christian denominations, highlighting societal challenges and the perceived inadequacy of the Christian faith in combatting moral decline.
My third book, “The Christian’s Political Challenge,” which explores the unique challenges faced by Christians engaged in politics, is awaiting publication. This perspective is informed by my experience as a member of parliament in the Kenya National Assembly.
Lastly, “Conflict in the Garden,” published in 2021 and submitted for this year’s ACABA Gala, examines marital relationships. It provides insights into God’s original design for marriage, the genesis of marital conflict, and biblical approaches to conflict resolution, aimed at empowering married and pre-marital couples to cultivate stronger, more fulfilling relationships.
Book Summary
Adam and Eve, the first couple, initially enjoyed harmonious companionship and mutual cooperation in the Garden of Eden. They shared intimacy, communication, and a deep affection that bound them together as God intended. However, with the advent of sin, conflict, struggle, and pain entered their marriage.
Conflict, struggle, and pain are inevitable in every marriage. Despite this universal truth, many couples hesitate to acknowledge these challenges, fearing it might reflect poorly on their union.
When conflicts arise, couples often resort to a blame game, accusing each other instead of seeking constructive resolutions. Despite its ineffectiveness, blame-shifting remains a common initial response in many marriages.
“Conflict in The Garden” focuses on marital relationships and explores:

This book is intended to equip both married couples and those preparing for marriage with the tools to build enduring and enriching relationships.
