Covid 19 aftermath: A leader’s experience and success amid the pandemic

Gibson Anduvate serves as the Senior Pastor at International Christian Centre Nairobi and Chairman of the board, Zinduka Africa, a registered NGO. He is an ICF Certified Executive Leadership Coach and founder of Leading Young, a leadership initiative that provides a Coaching and Leadership development platform for Government leaders, Senators, Members of the National Assembly and various Corporate Leaders. As part of the Leading Young Initiative he initiated the Leading Young Fellowship, a one-year program that trains and empowers selected members of county assemblies for greater impact in partnership with the Ford Foundation.

Gibson has published 2 books; Leading Young and Leading in the Valley; both of which have been nominated for the 2024 ACABA Awards in the category of youth and leadership respectively.

Leading Young started as conversations with young leaders who would ask different questions regarding their leadership journeys; some navigating their first jobs and others rising through the ranks of their industries. The recurrence of some topics informed the decision to turn the conversations into a book so that more young people can access the information.

The COVID season saw many lead through sharp corners, bumpy roads, deep valleys and high mountains. Leading in the Valley takes into account personal and learned lessons of leaders who have weathered through tough seasons successfully and even became better relational human beings in the valley.

Gibson’s writing journey began as a thought that was encouraged and supported by his late mother. Then it became conversations with family and friends who have supported him throughout the writing, editing and publishing of both books.
