Hi everyone! My name is Florence Mghoi Mlambo, author of *Her Legacy Lives: Embracing the Essence of Biblical Heroines*, my debut book! I’m a proud Gen Z/Zillennial (born right at the cusp), so I get the best of both worlds!
My love for writing started early—so early that in Class 8, I wrote a full fiction book in the back of an exercise book. Sadly, I lost that masterpiece! But writing never left me.
More than writing, I’ve always loved God and His Word. I would study the Bible more than my schoolbooks—but God had my back because somehow, I always passed! (Heavenly leakage, anyone?!)
This passion for storytelling and Scripture led me to write Her Legacy Lives—a book that explores biblical heroines in a fresh, bold, and relatable way. But my journey wasn’t straightforward—it’s been a wild, faith-filled ride!
*The Rollercoaster of Faith & Finding My Voice*: Faith isn’t always a straight path—it’s a sitcom, a drama, and a thriller all rolled into one! My journey as a Christian woman has been full of unexpected twists—times when I felt strong in my faith and times when I questioned everything.
Growing up, I had to navigate being a girl in a world that had clear ideas about how I ‘should’ be—quiet, submissive, and always agreeable. But I was also curious, outspoken, and unafraid to challenge ideas. That didn’t always sit well with people!
One day, in a work debate, I questioned a male colleague’s argument. He scolded me for ‘challenging a man.’ Can you imagine? Thankfully, others in the room backed me up, and I realized something: Women’s voices matter. Our perspectives matter. And the Bible is full of strong, bold women who refused to stay silent!
*The Moment the Book Idea Was Born* : So, how did Her Legacy Lives come to be? It all started with my deep love for the women in the Bible—stories of courage, faith, and resilience. I realized that too often, Christian women are portrayed as weak or secondary, but that’s NOT the biblical truth.
I wanted to write a book that flips the script. That showcases women not as passive background figures, but as powerhouses of faith, leadership, and purpose. This isn’t just a history lesson—it’s about how their stories still shape us today!
One of my most memorable experiences was preaching a sermon to over 3,000 people in my church. My dad told me, “Use personal stories—they connect people to truth.” That’s exactly what I did in this book. Through their stories and mine, I hope to encourage every reader to embrace their divine calling boldly!
*When Writing Became Reality*:
I always knew I’d write a book someday, but I never imagined it would happen so soon! In my mind, that was something for a much later season. But then, in 2023, my amazing mother published her book, and something clicked. Watching her step out boldly into authorship encouraged me to do the same. It was a reminder that sometimes, the dreams God places in our hearts aren’t meant for later—they’re meant for now. *Thank God for godly mothers who inspire us to walk in our purpose!*
This book is also my love letter to every woman who has ever wondered if she’s seen, valued, or significant in God’s grand story. It’s a journey through the lives of biblical heroines, uncovering their strength, faith, and resilience—even in their flaws. It’s about flipping the script on the misconception that Christian women are meant to be passive or powerless. Instead, we’re stepping into the reality that God has always used women in bold, world-changing ways.
*Why This Book Matters (And Who It’s For)*
This book is for the bold, the curious, the seekers. It’s for the women who have been told to ‘shrink’ themselves but know deep down they were made for more. It’s for those who love the Bible but sometimes struggle to see themselves in it.
In Her Legacy Lives, we don’t just talk about famous women like Esther and Ruth—we also celebrate the nameless heroines, the unsung warriors who played a part in God’s plan. Because whether you’re a Queen Esther or a Jane Doe, Jesus sees you, loves you, and calls you worthy.
And after each chapter? We pause to reflect—because these aren’t just old stories, they’re OUR stories too.
