How Jesca’s Walk With The Lord Has Transformed Her Authorship Journey

Jesca Makena Rebocanai noticed her passion for writing while in high school; she however did not fully pursue it until 2017 when she started her blog.
At the time, I felt like there was so much the Lord had revealed to me that I needed to share with the world. I therefore, began writing blogs on different topics like prayer and kingdom relationships.
My relationship and journey with the Lord has really informed what I write about. I’m a teacher of the word of God with a prophetic grace over my life hence everything I write about, I write to break down scriptures and also let my readers know what the Lord is saying in different seasons.
I’m also very big on being authentic and transparent. In whatever capacity I find myself sharing and especially through writing, I ensure that I include my highs and lows and everything I’ve learnt along the journey towards destiny.
I blogged consistently for 9 months then I published my first book in 2018 on prayer, namely, *The Art of Prayer*. This book was born from years of pursuing God in the place of prayer. The Lord had taught me so much on praying more effectively that I thought of sharing the revelation with the world. I wanted to make prayer easier and doable for those who struggle to engage in it.
After publishing my first book, I thought I would never be able to write another book. I, however, continued blogging. At the time I was doing a series on the book of Ruth on my blog site (jescamakena.wordpress.com). I was breaking down the book, verse by verse, and showing my readers the revelation in the book in connection to having kingdom relationships. I had no idea that a “Love Story series” would birth my second book – _Unveiled_ .
I thought I would struggle to get the second book done, yet it became the easiest book I had ever written so far. When I felt God’s nudge to write, I got it done within 30 days, but it was all God’s grace helping me.
While writing the last chapter of the second book, the Lord showed me a vision of another book. The book was called *Healed* . I asked Him what the book was about and I felt Him say that I needed to write a Memoir and tell my story.
You might think that it would be easy like the second book, but it wasn’t. For a whole year, I kept hoping silently that the Lord would change His mind. I thought my story was too ugly to be told, but I didn’t realize how necessary it was. After one year of escaping God’s instruction to write the book, I surrendered and asked for His help.
This book was the toughest book I had to write because I had to relive some traumatic memories but the Lord greatly helped me. I wrote this book step by step. I couldn’t write it continuously for hours like my second book. It was heavy for me so I disciplined myself to write only 1,000 -2,000 words a day. But at some point, I was able to write more words a day and I was done with the book in less than 2 months.
I’ve witnessed God’s support and help in my writing journey. I write with the hope and longing to make a difference. You can find me on my social media handles, Facebook: Jesca Makena Rebocanai , Instagram: @mrs.rebocanai
