Adia was a Third grader who lived in Georgia, United States of America. She loved to paint, play piano, and read. She liked her dog, Chloe and her cat, Dizzy. She was great in school, even joining the advanced classes!
Adia always tried her best, even when things got hard. When tears were dripping down her cheeks, she wiped them off and kept on going. One day, she read a book that just drew in her heart. She read it over and over again. A book that is a mixture of love, silliness, happiness, faith, and apathy.
As she kept reading it, it gave her the courage to write. She wrote for days weeks, months! Until she was finally done. She shared the book with her mom. Fortunately, her mom’s friend happens to be a publisher! Finally she became an author. She inspired other kids too.
They said things like, “If she can write a book maybe I can too.” or “I didn’t know eight year olds could write books!”
and, “When I get home, I’m gonna ask my mom if I can start writing books.”
Discouragement On Her Way
People discouraged her too. “That book of hers is trash!” “That book should earn an award for how bad it is!” “Even a two year old can write better than this!”
Adia did not let that stop her from following her dreams. The more books she wrote, the more proud she was. Even though she was famous, she was not spoiled. She used her money wisely and gave her extra earnings to the homeless people.
She was a very faithful person and enjoyed her life. Her best friend Ava always cheered her on. Adia was not much concerned if people did not believe in her as long as she believed in herself.
Despite their negative opinion , she still acted friendly towards them. “I respect your opinion, you don’t have to like me or my book.” She would tell them.
She prayed every day. She did not let her activities get in the way of her sitting down to reflect on life and to read her Bible. She was an amazing girl who saw good in everyone including the bullies. She was not afraid to express her emotions. No matter what, she got back up.
That was the beauty about her: She will get up when you throw her down. She was not afraid to lose everything, because she knew with God, she could do ANYTHING.
