Hopelessness is a weapon the devil uses to disempower God’s children. This is a feeling of, there is no way out. Hope and patience are partners. They embrace each other and provide assistance to each other. A person that is hopeful is a patient student.
In December 2016, my wife and I woke up on a regular day like any other, little knowing what that day had in store for us. In the mid-morning, my son Jonathan was dashed to the hospital for a checkup because he had a mild cough. When we reached the hospital the Pediatrician observed him and advised that the matter had escalated into an emergency. An ambulance was allocated to us to dash him to a bigger hospital for emergency attendance.
On arrival, Jonathan was rushed into Intensive Care Unit immediately and put on life support and an induced coma. In a span of like 2 hours, a child we had taken to the hospital for a mild cough was already in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and on Life support.
The issue escalated so fast and hit us (my wife and I) by surprise. The answers were not coming through from the doctors as we had expected. It was time to surrender the case to God the Almighty. Those were moments of despair. All we had to do was walk in faith and hope for the best. We did pray. My pastor Prophetess, Bibiana Wangari, was very supportive and prayed with us. She was a very big pillar and stood with us. The God sacred Hill Ministries was with us every step of the way.
I remember as the father, I was allowed into the ICU room. Every morning I would enter the room and pray for Jonathan. I would pour out my heart to God for my boy. Nine days down the road Jonathan was discharged, a recovered child. I vividly remember a nurse who had attended to him at the first hospital called him a hero. All doctors did not expect him to pull through. All we carried was hope and faith in Jesus Christ. What would we do without Jesus? Oh, how so loving He is and has been to us. God did in all matters of words resurrected our Jonathan. To Him be the Glory forever and ever Amen. Since that day, I respect ambulances. Whenever I hear the ambulance sirens, I give way. I know what it means. Just one second can mean life or death.
Waiting for a child for so long is tough. Imagine how Elizabeth the cousin of Mary the mother of Jesus felt. She was not barren but delayed because the correct timing was not yet ripe. Time can ripen like fruits. If it is raw then destinies can be misaligned.
Luke 1:26-38 – The day that the Angel of the Lord visited the virgin Mary to share the message of the conception of the Holy Spirit, the time had ripened for Elizabeth to conceive John the Baptist.
Luke 1:12 -17 – Zechariah ministered at the altar of incense, an angel of the Lord appeared and announced to him that his wife (Elizabeth) would give birth to a son, whom he was to name John, and that this son would be the forerunner of the Lord. Delay is never denial. Delay is never a failure; Delay is never meant to be despair. It would just mean that you are in the process chamber of God being forgotten for a grand purpose.
Oh lo and behold, when the Angel Gabriel gave Zechariah a message that his wife Elizabeth the Cousin of Mary mother of Jesus that his prayers had been answered, he was past hope and had sunk into hopelessness. He was at the leaning of the pillars of despair. He had long given up on ever having a son.
Imagine a message coming in like that which defies the laws of science. Conception past menopause is a miracle. However, Zechariah almost aborted the conception of John the Baptist with his tongue and heart of despair.
Words are powerful, uttered in the heart or spoken out. When given to us by God a message or prophecy we need to accept it and agree with it for it to form and bear fruit in this realm. Zechariah uttered nonsense and his lips were sealed by the Angel. The condition for him to speak again was going to be after his Child was conceived.
God is one of the protocols. The messiah has to have a front-runner. A curtain raiser they are called in our contemporary times.
What have you waited for? How many years? What sacrifices have you made? How many times have you tried to achieve and yet keep failing? Hang in there. Pray without ceasing. Help is around the corner.
I saw God pull my Jonathan out of a dark place to the light. God is good, all the time.
My choices, chances and cherishes on God almighty have never disappointed. He is always just on time. Never late and never early. Just on time.
Isaiah 49:23- Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame.
Till next time.
