Meet The Pediatrician, Dr. Nicolette Barungi, Out To Encourage Believers In Their Walk Of Faith

My name is Nicolette Nabukeera Barungi. I am so privileged to be a Nominee. I am a Medical doctor, a Pediatrician working in Mulago National Referral Hospital and a Senior Lecturer in Makerere University in Uganda. I have made several scientific writings but I am a first time Christian author.

My book is called Angel in my Home. It is a story which starts by telling how we got this little girl in our home and then followed by describing what she saw in a series of heavenly dreams. In the dream, Jesus told Angel that I was the one to write the book. The book was written in obedience to this instruction. The book talks about heaven, different activities that take place there and it also shows a lot about the love of God. It encourages believers because they get to know a bit more about our destination when we leave this world.

The idea of writing this book started way back in 2016. I was surprised when my 7 year old daughter as indicated told me she had experienced a heavenly dream. It was very vivid and detailed. I listened eagerly and was so excited as I listened. Little did I know that it was the first of many heavenly dreams. The dreams were very many, very vivid, long, detailed and very encouraging. I started recording them in my phone so that I do not loose the information. In one of the dreams, Jesus told her that I would be the one to write the book. It was clear that it was me not her father or herself.

I knew that I had to write the book but was not sure when that would be. The dreams kept coming and I kept recording them. When I stopped recording, I got a rebuke from Jesus in one of the dreams that Jesus was not happy that she would tell me dreams and I was not recording. I immediately resumed recording.

In 2021, I got Moderate COVID19 infection in June. It was scary but there is a way it came with a personal spiritual revival. In July, I felt God telling me that it was time to write the book. I had written many scientific publications but no Christian book. It was during COVID-19 lock-down, so I had the time to settle down and write the book, i was also not working as i took time to recover from Covid-19.

In my own wisdom, I thought the readers needed to know about the author. So I started by writing about myself, including my upbringing, how I got saved, my marriage and then the dreams. I asked a young lady to transcribe the recordings for me, to make it easier to write the dreams. She did a good job with the transcriptions. I then started putting the book together.

I kept the book in prayer through out the whole process. One time while I was praying, God told me that this book is only about the dreams and only one chapter about how we welcomed an angel into our home. I immediately revised to follow these instructions. The book is therefore only about the dreams and how we got Angel. While writing, I felt the scriptures flowing so I included them in the book. I added scriptures to support some of the dreams since I know many readers would find it hard to believe some things. Since the Bible is our reference standard, I put several scriptures.

After the book was put together, I continued to pray for it, asking God if there was anything He wanted me to remove or add to the book. This took a long while because I wanted the book to align with the book He had in mind for me to write. God was faithful and He kept showing me what to do.

I wanted it to be an excellent book so I sought services of an Editor. A friend recommended one and I gave him the book. The Editor referred me to someone to make the book cover. I kept praying for a Publisher and another friend recommended the person who made the book cover to publish the book. I made it a very spiritual journey because I know the power in books. I wanted a book that would change lives. I have been touched by many books so I wanted God to fulfil His purpose for this book. I asked so many people to pray for the book at all stages from writing, editing, making the book cover and publication level.

I experienced challenges like delays with the editor and getting finances to publish but God was faithful despite everything. I wanted the book to be out by Easter of 2022 but I failed to get it out. It was ready on Tuesday 19th April after Easter Monday. I am having challenges with marketing the book but I have faith that the book will reach the people who are supposed to read it and get encouraged.

I received support from my husband, my friends and family members. Members of my Home cell group prayed with me very often for the book. My friend Barbara read the book while it was with the Editor and really encouraged me so much. The people who have given me feedback on the impact of the book have encouraged me so much. I know God wants the book to reach many people for the advancement of His kingdom.Mee
