My name is Nonhlanhla Lucky Gugushe, the author of the book βNow I know: An Encounter with God Who Raises Standardsβ.
This is my testimony, and the YouTube link provided captures the day when I had a profound encounter with God in church, a moment where it felt as if the sun stood still.
My son was born a normal child, but his life took a drastic turn when he was one and a half years old due to epilepsy. Since his birth in 2010, our lives have been a journey of deliverance, healing, and restoration. He comes from a lineage of kingship, where heirs to the throne are displaced, and the lives of potential successors are often threatened.
I wrote my book on the 29 November 2015 the day my son experienced a resurrection. During that moment, as we slept, I had a visitation in my room. There was a new fragrance that filledand covered the room. I saw my son seated on the right and left of the lap but I did not see the man.
I heard a voice proclaiming, “Now you know I am the one who raises standards. Go and testify, and tell the people that I raise standards.” Overwhelmed, I replied, “Lord, I have never written a book in my life.” But He assured me, “I will put words in your mouth. Right now, you are in the mercy seat.” The title “Now I Know: An Encounter with God Who Raises Standards” stems from this divine encounter.
My publishing journey was remarkably smooth. I submitted my manuscript to Inspired Publishers in Johannesburg, where they handled all aspects of editing, grammar, and the photoshoot. The book was ready by May 2020, having been submitted in 2019, and it includes a digital copy as part of the package.
Dear Lucky.
Here we go..
The minute I started reading this ebook, I was reduced to tears. I could not stop those hot streams flowing from my eyes. What a soulful read! I have been going through some testing phase in my own life for a while now. You, Sis Nonhlanhla Gugushe, have managed to take me back to how we, as single mums, have to face all the challenges some of our children have had to endure from birth, all by our lone selves, in spite of all else life throws our way. All the trauma and the sleepless nights.. I have been there myself. The way you narrated the entire ordeal you and your gifted young King went through at Church was like one watching a real live play which, sadly for the two of you, was all real life experience. It is indeed a miracle that your boy was brought back to life. We do serve a wonderful, most awesome Promise-Keeper. A must-read for anyone going through a hard time, where at times even family turns their backs on you and you end up feeling like you have reached the end of the road in this lifetime. “Lemogang lerato la Modimo”, ka nnete. I was kinda chaffed that my own name featured somewhere in this moving tribute of life and miracles. May the young Ramaano continue shining with God’s glory, all wrapped under His divine wings. He is indeed the Moses of his own generation and has lots to share when he is older and able to interpret it all, by himself. Love and strength to you both. π
