Stephen Ogweno Inspires Authors To Be In Every Space In Order To Reach Their Audience

Stephen Ogweno started writing from age 10. I am an avid reader with a wide imagination and that allowed me to be a very good writer as well. By the time I was 16, I had written my first sci-fi novel which I shared with an international publishing firm who stole my book and never got back to me, I’m always thinking of rewriting that book again.

When I joined university, I wrote a book after every 2 years that I was there. And that’s how I was able to produce 2 anthologies. One called ‘The Drug free Youth’ and the ‘Mental Health’ anthology. These two books we printed and 3000 copies distributed to 8 schools in Nairobi and 2 orphanages completely for free.

The Mental Health Anthology was an East African best seller on Amazon having sold around 6,000 copies online. Latter on, I went on to contribute to a global best seller called. WE HAVE A DREAM which has been received by presidents, Hollywood celebrities and is also being used as a core book in Japan’s education for Primary educational.

After that I wrote 1 scientific book and a children’s story book in 2022 called ‘Stories by The Fireplace’ This book is a compilation of short folk tales from different communities in Kenya. The stories were told to us by our grandparents while we sat around the fireplace in our villages.

Finally to the book that has been nominated this year is titled ‘Practical Skills For Entrepreneurial Success’ This has been the book that has taken me the longest to write. It takes a unique approach, and an autobiography laced with practical insights for business and Entrepreneurship. It shows how to start run and sustain businesses, reflecting on my life experiences and lessons I’ve learnt along the way; This is having started around 12 businesses, failed at 7.

It’s an African contextualized book with practical advice to succeed in the African market as a person who wants to turn an idea into a venture. So with this book I did not just want it to be another one sided publication, I really wanted to go above and beyond with this book and so we did the hard copy book which you can find here https://www.amazon.com/stores/STEPHEN-OGWENO/author/B0BJW1XXL6?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true .

We then went on to do a soft copy of the book which you can find here
https://ogwenostephen.gumroad.com/l/PracticalSkillsForEntrepreneurialSuccess

We then went on to do 8 courses on the book which now have over 9000+ students on Udemy, which can be taken on this link https://ogwenostephen.com/courses/

More than that we also did an audio book on the book which you can find here
https://ogwenostephen.gumroad.com/l/Practicalskillsaudiobook?layout=profile

We also went a step even further to do a podcast on the book and it’s lessons, the podcast is called the Afroprenuer Podcast which you can listen to on Amazon, Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google podcast, Audible and Anchor FM. you can find all the links here
https://ogwenostephen.com/media/

And to sum it up on the book the podcast is also in video format which you can watch now on YouTube, with over 6k views on YouTube
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9g2v4gHMTvZRDFtYl72s09Yi7c270dqV

If you also want to watch the book launch event which happened last year you can do so via this playlist on YouTube also with over 8000+ views
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9g2v4gHMTvahcpXhoWNNuxLeJ5zLEulL

Finally I would want to share with you this short video which gives you a brilliant idea about the book in 4 minutes . This was the official AD for the book
https://youtu.be/o8K3_Ufi6D0

So why was this publication so important to be diversified, it’s because I wanted to ensure that I can be able to do my part in advancing God’s agenda that we may be fruitful, if God is the creator, and he created us in his own image then we are also supposed to be creators, innovators, inventors, problem solvers and entrepreneurs and that’s what my book aims to do , aiming to create more creators to solve the challenges of our current society.
