The Author Who Helps Mothers Build Bankable Business Brands – Wairimu Kanyi

My name is Rosslyne Wairimu Kanyi. I am a first time author of the book Wired Wired. I am excited to present myself as a nominee for the 2022 awards along with all the other 2022 nominees. I work as a Mom Mindset & Life Mentor and I love my calling.

I help Moms build bankable personal/business brands so that they can design a life they desire and that God approves. I take Moms through a journey of discovering themselves & their calling, packaging & monetizing their calling, adopting a growth mindset, creating a life vision and setting goals to achieve the same. My book, ‘Wired Weird’ is based on my story.

It is an _easy to read_ reflective book to help readers look inwards and see God’s precious-ness in their own story. My desire is that each reader gets to see themselves through God’s eyes. The Title of the book as I share in their first Chapter, was based on a conversation with God after a humiliating experience with someone who thought I was essentially unnecessary & worthless unless I didn’t conform to their “high” standard’. The idea of writing a book was birthed earlier by my Coach who explained it was important for any Coach/Mentor to have one as part of the products offered in service delivery.

At the time I didn’t know what to write about. To be honest, the book started as a revenge & response to that encounter in 2014 but instead was became what God used to heal me & enable others become empowered to embrace who they are & were created to be. It fueled my passion to enable me help others embrace their weird wiring (without feeling ashamed – or as we would say in Kiswahili..’Bila shame’)I starred writing the book in 2017 and thanks to the pandemic, finally got it finished.

I started by outlining my chapters early on, and just writing whenever I had time. In 2019 I had a health scare that made me stay home from January to August. That reignited the need to complete my book and leave a part of me behind, incase I didn’t get better. A friend offered to help me through the process and finally completed my first draft in 2021. I loved the journey and I loved who I became with every chapter submission. I enjoyed designing my cover, choosing the type of paper but did not enjoy dealing with the the publisher at all. It’s interesting how God turns around a negative experience for his glory and teachable moment to help us be better. The gentleman I originally had my brief with left the company without telling me.

It took 3 months as opposed to the agreed 2 weeks, between finding out he left, giving my brief again, having my book done with wrong cover, redoing to finally receiving it to share with others. I learnt how to be patient and work on God’s timing. The book finally arrived..2 weeks shy of my 45th birthday. This is interesting because, my original desire was to have had it done by my 40th birthday. God’s timing!
