His contribution continues to create pathways through which promising young writers can be discovered, mentored, published and equipped to make a lasting impact through the written word.

The Gary B. Chamberlin Legacy Award for Excellence in Competition Write-Ups by Young People recognises outstanding written work submitted by children, teenagers and young adults through approved creative writing competitions.

The award celebrates young writers who demonstrate originality, clarity, strong storytelling, thoughtful engagement with the competition theme and the ability to communicate meaningful ideas with confidence. Entries should also display an age-appropriate command of language, creativity and careful presentation.

Through this Legacy Award, young people are encouraged to recognise that their words matter and that their stories can educate, inspire, preserve culture and positively influence society. It affirms emerging writers who show promise and encourages them to continue developing their God-given literary gifts.

The award may recognise excellence in compositions, essays, short stories, reflections, poetry and other competition-based writing categories. Particular attention is given to work that reflects integrity, cultural awareness, positive values and an authentic youthful voice.
