My name is Magdalene Nasimiyu.
I am many things, but most importantly, a child of God. I am a mobilizer, serving with Mission Campaign Network, a ministry committed to empowering believers to engage intentionally in God’s mission. I serve as the Angaza Mission School Coordinator. I have the honour of mentoring and discipling young people, guiding them to become passionate labourers for God’s kingdom. My heart beats for raising a generation that actively participates in advancing His mission with purpose and conviction.
My Writing Journey
My writing journey began long before I was even aware of it. As a child, I was an avid reader, often losing myself in stories well into the night. This love for reading, perhaps subtly shaped my writing, a gift that was recognized early on by my English teachers. I vividly recall one teacher who made an indelible mark on my journey, affirming my gift for writing and offering valuable advice on how to refine it. This encouragement planted seeds during my formative years. Yet, at the time, I saw writing as confined to academics. Once I finished school, I set it aside, unaware of the potential it held beyond the classroom.
It wasn’t until much later, during my discipleship journey, that the spark to write was rekindled. The ideas within me were constant, and I began putting them down as articles—but I guarded them diligently, hesitant to let others into my inner world.
Then came a turning point. Summoning courage, I shared one of my writings with a friend. Her encouraging feedback ignited a new level of confidence, reminding me that perhaps my words could touch others in ways I had not imagined.
Onto my First Book
I have always dreamed of writing beautiful stories—stories that transcend mere entertainment and ultimately glorify God.
While the African church leads the world in numbers of Christians, there remains a significant gap: so few truly understand and actively live out God’s purpose in advancing His kingdom. Why is this? As a mobilizer, I am driven by a passion to see every believer intentionally engage in the mission of God. Until My Last Breath was birthed from this desire—to inspire and challenge believers to live for the glory of God in every aspect of their lives.
Though fictional, the story reflects the very real challenges and struggles believers face in living a life of obedience to God. It sheds light on the barriers that prevent many young people from responding to His call, offering a relatable and honest portrayal of these struggles. Yet, it doesn’t stop there—it provides a message of hope, showing how one can overcome these obstacles and walk in obedience to God, embracing a purpose that transcends this world to fulfill an eternal one.
The narrative beautifully captures the essence of faith, trust, and sacrifice, illustrating that choosing to pursue God’s purposes wholeheartedly, even amid competing distractions, is a decision one will never regret. It reveals the unmatched beauty and fulfillment found in living for His mission.
