Vincent Odhiambo’s Books Will Give Every Reader A Face-Face Encounter With The Truth

I have been a Pastor and a spiritual caregiver for more than 20 years – I have a passion to see believers live by the word; this is what i regard as SIGNIFICANT LIVING.
I am not the traditional pastor as I also work in the corporate space – with over 10 years experience as a C-Level executive in different organizations, both for profit and not-for-profit, my specialty in the corporate space, being Turn-Around Management and Organization Development. I therefore enjoy teaching and expounding on the truth of the word of God, to foster accurate understanding.
I like dogs – literally – and pedigree for that matter., i am also married to Dolly, we have two children; Benjamin – 17 and Naserian -15.
The title of my book itself elicits mixed reactions – ‘The Sower’s Parable’ with a general notion that the subject is exhausted. I felt the same when I heard an instruction to write the book on the subject. The results: 14 years to come to this point. It wasn’t 14 years of doing nothing – but what started out as an authorship of the subject – turned to be a school on the same.
In the end, though my name is on the book – I wouldn’t regard myself as an expert on the subject but as one who has experientially been schooled on it. Here’s a trigger on the subject: Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?” In other words, if you claim to understand other parables but not this one, then you are a liar.
A second trigger: Lk 8:11 – “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” Therefore, Jesus, who is the word of God is the seed and not the sower in this parable. Which implies, sowing the seed is not about preaching and neither are preachers, sowers. So who is the Sower, what is the seed and most important, what is the expectation?
Third trigger: Every parable told by Jesus can pivot on this parable: Do you know why or how? If therefore, on the principle of this parable, the ‘other’ is not anchored – it has been wrongly perceived.
Finally, while this is the first book bearing my name as author. I have been a contributor and co-author in several other publications, including, books, training and instructional materials, plays and songs. I am currently working on other scripts that have also been in the making for some time now and I am instructed to have two other pieces out by end of this year.
For me, writing is a means to an end – giving the reader and opportunity to get one-on-one with the truth. You see, reading, isolates a person from the world around and speaks to him/her in their personal voice. I studied and even taught on this parable over many years – as earlier indicated – without the full awareness it would turn to a book. When I received the instruction to write it – it coincided with a sabbatical I had from work, and was therefore written in about 6 months.

Vincent, you must be an awesome teacher/instructor. The zeal with which you have written ‘The Sower’s Parables is imminent. May the book bring in as much fruit as was in the parable. Inspiring.

Wow! I love that you got an instruction ti write this about this parable. I got myself asking who is the sower too. As you put it, reading isolates a person from the world around and speaks to him/her in their personal voice, I have thought deeply about this phrase. Thank you for the inspiration
