Katherine Silva – Just Like Many, Authors Second Guessed Her Work

I often heard people complain about children’s behavior before I was blessed to be a parent and I thought isn’t this a problem that is ours, in our hands, shouldn’t we do something about it?

I decided to draft something that would teach children values we feel are no longer seen as precious in our society. To encourage a way of good values and guide our children. As I always had pets and lived with cats, I used cats to animate this story so that children are drawn to the story other then giving them a lecture.

I wrote this book and published 10years after. Why? Life happens, lack of self belief, not knowing the next steps. I meet many authors who also have been through the path of second guessing their work, however faith plays a part, just believe pray and set your book free. My mother also reminded and encouraged me often and upon the start of the pandemic I concluded and self published this book.

I am a wife, mother and career banker. Also an author and founder of the Kore Africa Magazine. As a charity ambassador I run a donation drive names Joy Drops where we support homes and shelters. I use my book to mentor during the joy drops and sell it to collect funds for the charity.

The Kore Africa Magazine was created to Celebrate Africa the first feature Celebrating African authors, giving them a platform where we continue to feature in every issues a Penwoman and Penman of the month. I was lucky to find this illustrator online, however, to get reliable illustrators is tricky because they disappear then return, so yes after a few years when I had written the book I started paying installments for illustration for volume 2.

Children reflect the society, the values we inculcate in them determines how our society will be in the future
