I’m a leader in Family, Marriage in particular is my sphere of influence. My wife and I have been doing Marriage & Relationship Counseling and Coaching for the last ten years. With time God has favoured us to be in the media and have spoken in several Married Couples Retreats, Seminars and Workshops. We have seen ourselves gain ground to the point that we are now one of the leading Couple Therapists in the Country.
Because of the above, people call us Marriage experts or an authority in Marriage and Relationship matters. Severally when we were invited to speak, after speaking people would always ask us if we had authored any books. The question “Where’s the book?” kept bothering me. I always thought that writing a book was an harculilan task until we came to CLC. My wife had always believed that we could do it, but I was the doubting Thomas. One afternoon she suggested we go see Muthoni, whom I had met because our children were doing the same curriculum. But I had never known what she did. That afternoon, just talking to her opened my eyes to the fact that this could be done. We quickly collected all the articles we had done on our weekly column in a local daily and gave it to Muthoni. Just like that, CLC helped us compile those articles into chapters and our first book “Marriage, Thistles & Flowers” was born.
That was the spark I needed. The following year we embarked on our second book, this time with the belief that it can be done. And lo and behold again with the help of CLC, who even suggested that the book, a workbook on navigating conflict in Marriage come with a “His” & “Her’s” journal. The book which won the ACABA award in the Family & Marriage category has given us a lot of boost to our already great influence in this area. Many Churches and Couple groups are now using the book thanks to CLC. Someone once told me that you cannot be an authority in anything without authoring a book. CLC has made us authors thus qualifying us as Authorities in the sphere of Marriage and Family.
God bless the wonderful staff at CLC for the good job they are doing. It’s hard to summarize CLC’s impact in our lives!
