Grief From The Loss Of Her Father Led Ivy To Fully Depend On God

I am Ivy Gikonyo, a born again Christian.  Faith is not the most important aspect of my life, it is my life. It defines who I am and what I live for. My goal is to honor God with all I am and all I have.

I lost my dad in 2019 after a short illness and that was a big blow. Shortly after, I moved to England, separating from my mum and brother. This isolation meant that I experienced grief mostly on my own. It was a blessing in disguise because I learnt to lament to God.

I had to talk to Him even when He was the last person I wanted to. On the worst of days, I was able to tell Him that He had wounded me and that I needed Him to help me trust Him again. And He showed up greatly. He reminded me of truths in His word which I clung to in that season and with time, He gave me a new song.

That’s what the book is about – an account of God’s providence in grief and is for all people who need to be reminded that God is working even in their pain.

The title, ‘Even Here’, is from a song that became my prayer and carried me through grief. Even in grief, God is good. I am on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter as Ivy Gikonyo.
