My name is Henry Muguluma, a Christian speaker, and writer, living and working in Kampala, Uganda.
I started out as a secondary school teacher, but since then I have moved on to training leaders, and mentoring young people.
Currently, I work with an NGO called Africa Renewal Ministries, as the Director of Leadership Development. I am also a lecturer, consultant, and a teacher of God’s Word. So far, I have written and published 5 independent books:
1. 5 Things Every Young Person Should Know (2019)
2. Unshakable Hope (2020)
3. The Heaven in Your Eyes: a collection of love poems (2020)
4. Believe in Your Dream (2021)
5. Living for His Glory: vol 1 & 2 (2022)
My writing journey probably started in senior three, when a friend came over, and asked that I help him write a love letter to a girl he was interested in. At first I said no, arguing that I didn’t know how to write love letters since I was not even in a relationship myself. But he reasoned back that I was doing Literature, adding that i was his best English speaker in the whole world!
Anyway, I reluctantly agreed, went home, and spent the whole night crafting a love letter. Actually, I borrowed a lot from Song of Songs, the movies I had watched, and the romantic words I would have wanted to tell someone – if only I had the courage! The next day, my friend read only the first line and he said it was perfect.
The letter worked. He got the girl. And I started writing more love letters for whoever wanted to impress a girl or a boy. Sometimes, I even wrote and replied my own love letters. After the love letters, I started writing poems, and by the time I graduated from university I had written over 1000 poems, under the name “Tender Sentiments.”
But despite all the writing I did, I always feared to publish because I thought my work was not good enough. Till 2018, when I got so sick and ran out of money. Being a Christian, I went to God and asked him for an idea I could write about, and make some money, while impacting lives.
God in his mercy, gave me “5 Things Every Young Person Should Know.” And the book, that was born out of a desperation to earn a little money, has become a favorite for many readers, young and old.
In a way, each of my books has a story behind it. Some beautiful. Some painful. And some a mixture of both.
But in all this, I should say: deep in my heart I know that part of my purpose in this world is to write lifechanging books – to the glory of God.

Oh what a journey! I like
Please keep writing more love letters this world needs them where the love for many has grown cold …
