Wanjiku Journaled As A Form Of Therapy After The Loss Of Her Brother; It Paid Off Much Later

For as long as I can remember, I have known Christ; as early as my young years, I was introduced to the Christian faith. I must say that it was from a place of fear; If you don’t follow Him, you will go to Hell. Over the years, I have walked with Him and, in the recent past, known Him from a place of love.

I began writing, or should I say journaling, when I lost my brother in 1996; back then, I did not know it was therapy, but I never stopped journaling; it became I tool to hearing and knowing God for myself through writing.

My aunt used to write poems (she has never published them and I hope she will), and I used to get a chance to read them. I also typed her handwritten work, which may have been a form of impartation. I never imagined I could write a book and share it with the world. I struggled… despite enjoying a wide range of texts in my younger years.

However, as fate would have it, journaling paid off, and in my quiet times or not-so-quiet times, I would get inspiration, and I must say all that is in ‘Heart Strings’ book is pure inspiration. Interesting that my publisher is ‘not’ a Christian, but we worked together, one because knowing Christ from a place of love has allowed me to know that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and that I am on a journey to know his love. Though I fall and falter, His love will lead me home to Himself. This book is a journey of hope, rebirth and reawakening from fear to love, and I hope that His love may shine through me to all and sundry, that the words He allows me to write, may come alive and light the readers path to Him.
