My name is John Araali. I was born, raised and live in Uganda. I am a humble servant, peace-maker and father. An entrepreneur and horticulture farmer. I have also worked as a banker, an executive and volunteer.
My writing journey started in June 2021 during the second wave of covid-19. My worst experience was losing a brother. I also lost a significant amount of assets. Despite my apartment bills having been covered for sometime, I felt concerned with my dwindling savings.
I had an account balance of UGX.4million equivalent to KES.129,032 only. I would run bankrupt in 3 months. The more I got worried about my terrible financial situation, the more I prayed. The Lord then instructed me to buy a Bible, a quire book and pen. He said to me, ‘I will direct your future’.
I followed God’s instructions and within a year I had published my first book ‘Affirm Your Right to God’s Promises’. The Lord was by my side, the book was recognized by the Education Secretariat as a Spiritual guide for teens. I was impressed with the Bishop’s Foreword and the comments I received from my readers.
I was optimistic to sell and get rich. I had a goal and the energy to sell millions of copies. Surely, every few copies I managed to print were sold. Infact, some clients were delighted with my work and tipped me. I remember a friend of mine who bought the book with $100.
But, the Lord’s vision for the work He entrusts us to do is endless. God’s goal is to see His word reaching all people, everywhere and all the time not just seeing us making our ends meet. Early in 2022, I experienced the hardest financial challenges, nevertheless, my soul just exploded with a strong desire to write.
The more my situation worsened, the more I resolved to reach out with the finest knowledge to help people live a fulfilling life. I realized that people are highly educated and powerful, but they live unfulfilling lives because they lack the qualities of God.
My resolve is to sow seeds of God’s qualities/ways. As I write, I also spare time to sell and interact with my clients. My experience is that clients want to know a book’s intended audience because they prioritize the needs of their loved ones I.e. spouses, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. I take advise from my clients seriously to come up with different editions for different audiences.
I have come to realize that clients are part of an author’s team. With this in mind, plus a burning desire for children to become morally upright and fulfilled people, I have published the books ‘A Perfect Life of a Child’ and ‘The Best Path to Success’. The books suit every child’s moral and behavioral needs.
I have also published a story book ‘The Old Mpororo Kingdom’. I compared the tribe of Bahiima with that of Abraham and Lot. The logic behind this book is that the Lord redeems His people and His kingdom never ends.
