My writing journey has not been an easy one. BREAKING TRANS-GENERATIONAL FAMILY CHAINS is a book that has taken me almost 3 years to complete. The main areas that posed a big challenge for me were starting, maintaining momentum and finishing . In fact, I have captured these three areas in the book which I believe are the same areas that hinder many families from progressing and breaking harmful patterns. These three things are used by the enemy as his weapons of imprisoning God’s children.
My desire to write came as a result of my experience with my clients who come to me with troubled selves, past and present relationships. In the course of my practice, I have noted that many families transmit negative patterns to their offspring. Like a baton, pain is passed down from one generation to another. Many people have time bombs lying in them as a result of their childhood wounds. Others are bitter and blame their families for who they have become, while others don’t seem to know that the toxicity they emit in their current relationships emanate from their erroneous dispositions of life shaped by their families of origin. I have discovered over the years that what fills our emotional banks was to a large extent deposited in our early lives by our close relationships. More desire to write was informed by my own experience in my family of origin. I didn’t know that many struggles I encountered were as a result of behaviors or personality formed while I was growing up. More can be found in the book.
Meanwhile i am currently, I am in the process of pursuing my PhD in the area of families. I am also pursuing an international online course in Family mediation. I am at an advanced stage of starting a family centered ministry by the name FAMILY CONCERN MINISTRIES. My aim is to gather families once a month where we would have seminars and workshops about various family issues, pray and ensure that families live up to God’s desire for them to raise Godly offspring in line with Malachi 2:15.
I am also in the process of publishing two more books:
– TOURING THE HEART OF YOUR TEENAGER
– WHEN MAN CAN’T FEEL
