Sheila Oile Saw A Gap In Books That Teach Children How To Pray

I describe myself as a creative. You see back in Primary school, I loved English writing composition, and I once wrote the class poem for my classmates to perform to Mothers on Parents day…I heavily borrowed it from Proverbs 31.

In a mixed High school, I deviated a bit and was known for writing love poems for couples upon request of the boyfriend or girlfriend… I was usually busy around Valentines and Birthdays.

Fast forward, I got born again, married and soon after became pregnant, instinctively I left my corporate job (without a future plan) at JKIA Cargo to have my daughter and 18months later my son checked in as well. It’s at this time as a SAHM (Stay at Home Mum) I was ferocious in guarding who was around my children, what they ate or watched etc… One day I remember paying attention to my almost 3yrd daughter talking and she was mimicking Peppa Pig and a voice said to me, ‘how much more would they benefit if it were godly content?

And just like that I had a light bulb moment! I immediately I went around looking for (especially) local godly storybooks for 1-2yr old children. There were Bibles but not applicable ones that I was drawn to, so I saw a gap, and jumped in on it.

The drive and passion is always “Equipping the Next Generation” with Biblical truths, content and Worldview. I have written two other books, available on my social media platforms;

‘I Pray When…’   Aims to help children incorporate prayer in their everyday life with fun simple pictorial examples of how the children prayed whenever they needed God’s intervention. This will enable them to be comfortable and confident in prayer with the simplest of words. This book continues to remind children Mathew 21:22 “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe and you will Receive” and that Jesus is always close by.
