ENTER INTO REST
Susan candidly shares with us her personal experiences with depression, the highs and lows of her struggles and how, by God’s grace and with the support of her family especially, she’s been able to pull through. Hers is not a theoretical approach borrowed from philosophical knowhow, rather, a humble submission of realities faced, some of which are too harsh to bear, yet she’s courageous and vulnerable enough to share them with us. Her desire, as spelt through this write-up, is to sensitize the masses on depression and other mental illnesses, in the hope that the affected can find help before it is too late, and that through understanding, society can offer a strong support system to people battling depression and other mental illnesses and help them come to a place of rest.Ultimately, the author is keen to point us to God, without whom we may never get to a state of complete rest and perfect peace. Enjoy the learning as you read this wonderful book.

THE ENTER INTO REST INITIATIVE
Enter Into Rest is an initiative designed to raise awareness about the cause and impact of mental health illnesses, reduce stigma of mental illness, and promote behaviors and practices that promote emotional and mental well-being. Our initiative was started in 2023 in Kenya, after the release of a book by the same name detailing a personal experience with major depression. It was interesting to note that society is unaware of the broader definition of the condition, the symptoms, and available treatment options. Stigma and misconceptions of depression and other mental illnesses, if unaddressed, lead to avoidable consequences such as suicide, poor productivity, and low quality of life. Our hope is to break down mental illness in a way that anyone, regardless of their background, can understand. We believe that our information, resources, and programs can empower society members to become their own advocates and seek treatment or prevent mental illnesses on time. More so, our programs encourage society members to be proactive in identifying symptoms of mental illnesses and assisting the sick to create a safe and supportive community. Additionally, we connect people with mental illness to the right professionals. Here, you will find a team of qualified psychiatrists, psychologists, life coaches, nutritionists, and trainers in different fields. Our support groups, along with our hotlines, will give you a chance to speak with people who can relate to your problem and assist you from a place of grace and compassion.
Vision
Our vision is to offer holistic, practical, and wellness-oriented resources and information that improve community’s understanding of mental health, reduce stigma of mental illness, and offer support for people with mental illnesses.
Mission
Our mission is to empower and increase access to relevant programs for persons living with mental illness, increase mental health awareness and advocacy, and promote practices that help prevent or improve symptoms of mental illnesses.
Susan Lifts The Lid On Depression In her Book ‘Enter Into Rest”
As a little girl, I had a lot to say, but I kept to myself. See, I am two people; one part of me can really talk, while the other is a little silent. I am never deep when I talk – it’s general things, like why I can’t stand…
