My name is Rayhab Wangari Macharia, a Wife to one Man, a mother of 3, pastor and marriage & family therapist.
I have not always been passionate about writing but in 2018 I started hanging around writers who made writing look so interesting. Therefore, to help me start my writing journey, I joined a 1 year leadership course in 2020 and one of its requirements was to write a book!
I am passionate about prayer: any time is prayer time for me. So I planned to write a general 21 day prayer & fasting devotional. However, one of the days i was putting my 1 year old to bed (it was a toll-order – it could take 1hr+ to put him to sleep) but instead of getting worked up about it, the Lord put it in my heart to start praying for him for 21 days as I breastfeed him, in readiness for his bedtime.
Wow! Those were the most beautiful nights of bonding with my son. A light bulb moment came and I thought to myself “these prayers can actually be turned into a devotional” and that’s how ” When Mama Prays” was birthed.
Most people tell parents “You need to pray for your children” but the how to do it is always missing. When Mama Prays gives us the “how” as it is a simple guide on how parents can intentionally pray for their children.

Congratulations, this was awakening time indeed and the bonding with your son and praying for him did open a new chapter in writing. Once again congratulations
Such a powerful resource! Thank you for putting it together.
