“Impacting lives with Christian literature”

What does it mean to keep searching when life is marked by hardship, disappointment, and change?
In Born Searching, Lucy Konji shares a deeply personal journey from humble village beginnings to a life shaped by faith, courage, and perseverance. With honesty and grace, she reflects on childhood struggles, spiritual awakening, marriage, motherhood, and the challenge of building a new life in a foreign land.
Through seasons of uncertainty and stretching, Lucy discovers that the search for identity, belonging, and purpose is ultimately met in God’s faithfulness. Her story is a moving reminder that resilience is often born in quiet places, hope can survive even the hardest seasons, and a life surrendered to God is never wasted. Tender, inspiring, and deeply human, Born Searching invites readers to look beyond pain and press on with faith toward purpose.
“Impacting lives with Christian literature”
Moving to Canada in 2000 exposed me to many different cultures and perspectives on life. I began to realize that many things I had always considered normal or common were not necessarily so. From family life and community interactions to the workplace, church, and neighbourhood relationships, I noticed that our experiences and values were often quite different.
While attending parent-teacher interviews at my daughters’ school, several teachers repeatedly encouraged me to write a book. They would often say, “We would not mind having twenty Germaines or Sandras in our classroom.” They believed there was wisdom in our family experiences that could benefit others.
Beyond the school environment, many people reached out to me seeking guidance on matters of faith, family, marriage, parenting, and workplace challenges. My family even suggested that I open an office in our basement because so many people were coming for advice and encouragement.
As I interacted with people, many were curious about my determination, resilience, and positive outlook despite the challenges of adapting to a new culture and workplace environment. At the same time, I wanted to preserve my story for my daughters so that even after God calls me home, they would still have lessons and experiences they could draw from.
All these factors combined, inspired me to write and share my story.

This book is for many different people:
My hope is that readers will be encouraged to believe in their dreams, do their best with what is within their control, trust God with the rest, and leave the outcome in His hands. Above all, I hope they will see God’s faithfulness at work in ordinary life.

The theme that resonated most deeply with me was perseverance and trusting God.
This theme runs throughout my story—from childhood struggles and personal faith journeys, to trusting God for my father’s deliverance, believing against all odds that my marriage could succeed, trusting that my daughters would grow into the women God intended them to be despite the pressures facing their generation, and believing that even after experiencing professional setbacks in my early years in Canada, I could still thrive and fulfil God’s purpose for my life.
Through every season, God proved Himself faithful.
Writing this book reminded me of God’s incredible grace, mercy, favour, and faithfulness throughout my life.
As I reflected on my journey, I became even more aware that I am an imperfect person who has been sustained by a perfect God. It deepened my gratitude and strengthened my appreciation for His forgiveness, guidance, and unwavering presence through every stage of life.

The themes explored in this book address many of the practical challenges that people face every day.
One area that is especially close to my heart is marriage and family life. Through our ministry, The Couples Connection, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles many couples experience. The chapters that focus on building strong foundations for successful marriages are particularly relevant in today’s world.
Topics such as communication, conflict resolution, forgiveness, commitment, and learning to walk together through life’s challenges are more important than ever. Healthy marriages do not happen by accident. They require intentional effort, grace, and a willingness to keep choosing one another again and again.
This book encourages readers to move beyond emotional love and embrace intentional love—a love that is rooted in commitment, faith, and daily choice.
Ultimately, I believe the message of this book is relevant because it speaks to real life. It offers hope, practical wisdom, and encouragement for anyone seeking to trust God through life’s challenges and uncertainties.
